When I Started:
Nov, 2006
How I Started:
I wasn't happy with my body or myself. I suffered from severe depression, contemplating if each day was even worth it. And Im type 1 Diabetic, so i wanted to better my health. At my worst I was around 5 foot 4 and 190 pounds! So i decided to start trying to lose weight. After 6 months of on and off training i got down to 138. I was so happy, all of my problems were cured. And my diabetes was under great control. But I had no muscle! So I started researching and starting taking diet and training seriously.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling. I love seeing my body change week by week, getting bigger and stronger. It gives me something to strive for. Its a sport that not everyone can do, it takes a lot of dedication and discipline. its a sport where you stand alone. You have to fight through for yourself to succeed.
How I Stay Motivated:
First off my girlfriend. Face it this is a very self centered sport. And she puts up with it. And is constantly telling me i look better and better.
Also, my walls in my bedroom are plastered with cutouts of bodybuilders from magazines. So every night before bed I see them and the second i wake up i see them.
Looking at my fat pictures haha
i will never go back to that. EVER!
BB Accomplishments:
my legs and my back:)
and
being voted as a semi-finalist for the bodyspace and Ironman Spokes Model Contest. I know it isn't a lot but it is to me!

killer bro! took all last week off after the shows. ate crap, enjoyed it all. added water n size. now back at it, training for a show in 6 weeks. gotta have somethin to do haha
Thanks for the add, I'm humbled. Honestly though, this is not a self-centered sport, it's more of an art, and you're the artist! great progress you got, gotta love that drive you got, it's what keeps anyone from insanity! lol. Congrats on the spokes model accomplishment, out of so many 100s of people, you earned that spot. Keep at it man! "brothas in iron!" haha hope to hear from ya! peace.
its the diet i ahd been working on - but you helped me get my 2nd meal of the day in. i was eating nutrigrain bars and switched to hardboiled eggs. i hate them to be honest, but they work, ao i am gonna keep eating them! haha
i am starting my first real bulk this thursday, i cant wait!
thanks for the advice with the diet. i finished my cut on friday, went from 169 to 161.5lbs in 4 weeks, not my goal of 160 - but still happy with the results.
