Strength is still going up. Not in huge strides, but at a very respectable pace. Sure, I'll be the first to admit that strength and muscle size don't always go hand-in-hand, but getting stronger without joint pain can do wonders for your motivation. Early workout today and it was a leg day. More times than not that can mean a rough one. Today was fantastic, however. Leg strength is going up nicely and I can officially go through the full range of motion on Sissy squats and calf work. Just over 3 weeks into the 4X/SS routine and all is going well. I'm liking the combination of heavy midrange exercises and 4X on the stretch and contracted work. At the moment it seems to be the perfect mix of myofibrilar and sarcoplasmic workloads. It's been an interesting couple of days with re-smashing my foot in the dark a few nights ago and then a schedule which made it too tight to get to the gym yesterday. Luckiyl there was no great loss from the foot-smashing or the missed workout, though. Quick ice seemed to make the foot happy, and I ignored the "pop" I felt while icing it. As expected, I'm incredibly sore from yesterday's leg workout. Luckily that doesn't affect much today aside from the pads on the lat pulldown compressing against sore quads. Not sure if it was the need for muscle recovery or simply not enough sleep in general, but I overslept by a long shot today and had to speed things up. It would've been too easy to skip, but that's just a downward spiral, and I didn't want to cut anything short as I've got some very specific goals I want to achieve. Today was a self-imposed test, and I passed. Mostly. I haven't been able to do any sort of pressing movements for legs in over a month now, and no calf work at all. That's enough to drive a guy insane. While I'm technically probably not supposed to do either still, that didn't stop me today. Mind you, I can't use much weight on the leg press because of the foot and calf work was mediocre at best, it was still something. It's been exactly one month since that fateful toe-crushing day which seems to have changed my life, at least for the time being. The first two weeks were nothing but foot-up healing time, which was driving me nuts. The past two weeks were better with some time spent in the gym, but not quite feeling 100%. I feel good enough now to no longer care about some of the pain I still have. It's the end of April and I want to feel (and look!) good, so I've made some big changes I'll be sticking to for... Running late with a doctor's appointment to get to immediately after training, so the session was abbreviated but resulted in a good pump. As an added bonus, I got to leave the orthopedic appointment with a prescription for a carbon fiber shoe insert. We'll see how long it takes to actually wedge these broken toes into a shoe, though. For someone who has clearly worked hard to get the conditioning done to look that well, I'm personally glad that your humble enough not to post any creepy picture's that gross me out! Truly this say's alot about your character. Thanks bud for the effort m=it give a guy like me some perspective and motivation.

Jonathan has been a motivator for me for years. He's educated himself on so many levels of fitness and training. He's shared his knowledge in the pages of Ironman for years now. He has brought his body to levels even he must be surprised at.

He has given people a lot of good information, worth gold for bodybuilders. (especially natural ones) Both X-reps and 3D POF are fantastic techniques bodybuilders can use to achive great muscular gains. Jonathan has already proven that it is possible to build the body of a pro bodybuilder, without the use of steroids. Thanks!
