How I Started:
I started out in Hatha yoga. Then that lead me into martial arts. My instructor
~Sifu, started me lifting weights. I was very fast but skinny. I rapidly gained muscle and even more speed...I started liking it more and more... I competed in Muay Thai, full contact when I was 16 in Germany. At the same time I lettered in track and field(100 & 200 meters sprints and discus). Plus I had my first bodybuilding contest in 1979. I continued, this getting a Black Belt and becomeing a member of the World Black belt Bureau, and International Budo Association. Did over 12 years in the US. Navy..(the first 2 years were with the US Marine Corps~Assualt Squadron 7).Then I was a diver retrieving torpedos for nuclear fast attack submarines out of Norfolk, VA.(Squadrons 6 & 8).
Why I Love It:
It is a healthy, non-violent sport and lifestyle. I peak at least once per year even if I am not in a contest...around Aug. or Sept.
How I Stay Motivated:
It is built into my nature. I have been training in Tai chi Chuan, Ch'i Kung, Iron palm, iron body and Kong Jing. For so long I have to before I even eat breakfast!
BB Accomplishments:
Writing 2 books on the subject. Getting to travel and help other athletes and lay people achieve the goals they set. I started Worldbodybuilding, INC( formerly Heavy Metal training Systems) in 1988.
