For my son !! My wife died of cancer several years ago when my son was 12. I need to be around for him!!! Beyond that this site is so inspiring so many people that have overcome so many challenges in their lives! Its amazing!!

cmaclellan Great to hear you want to lift heavy, It is important for healthy bones! I would suggest you start with Deadlift, Squats, and press. Look up Starting strength or 5-3-1. They are great programs. Keep reps low (1-5) for 1-5 work sets. Squat and Press, you should be able to do quite a bit of volume at first. Deadlifts typically take less volume to make adaptation at first. Start very light and add more weight every week. PM me your email, and I could send you some ebooks to read. Mar 28, 2012 2:07pm
