Background
My "Love Affair" with lifting weights started when I saw the cover of the January 1977 issue of Muscle/Power magazine photo of Mike Mentzer. I was that 115lbs weakling and I wanted to look like Mike Mentzer. I joined the Army in 1982 and continued lifting to gain size. After 24 years of military service to our great nation, I continue to lifting weights as a part of my occupational therapy as the result of injuries. That is 24 hard Army years, that is like dog years you have to multiply that by seven or something to understand how beat down I had become. My weight had ballooned up to 310lbs, and because of injuries I cannot run anymore for my cardio. That was my excuse for being fat for so long that I actually started believing it myself. I couldn't run, so I didn't do any cardio. I now think, "I cannot run, so what else is great for cardio".
I like the way working out makes me feel and look. I am learning and relearning my body on a yearly basis. What worked last year doesn't seem to fit the bill this year. My eating habits have improved and I am just learning how to take great care of myself.

Update Briefing, Operation Andre'...(Pause for effect)...ManCandy
Posted in Training : Dec 28, 2010 5:13pmWell Operation Andre’…(pause for effect)…ManCandy is still an ongoing adventure. I am sorry to say that I didn’t hit my first goal of 100lb weightloss by the 31st of March 2008. In fact my total weightloss has only been 70lbs. I went from 310lbs to 230lbs that was 80lbs but then my weight went back up to 240lbs. I don’t know what to think about this gain in weight because I actually can feel the muscle taking shape under the layers of fat.
I look better than I used to and I am feeling stronger with less aches and pains, so I am counting everything in the

Posted in Training : Dec 28, 2010 5:13pmOk so here is the deal: I was recently released from imprisonment (not really but it sure felt like a prison) in an Army outpost in the middle of Baghdad. I was confined to a 20’ by 20’ room for three months straight. Food was prepared and served from an Army Field Kitchen. If you have never experienced the finer dining of the military, I suggest you don’t!!! Choices are very simple, either you eat what they have made or you go without. Plus they only cooked breakfast and evening meals. Lunch came from a Meal Ready to Eat (MRE in military jargon). If we g
