My "Love Affair" with lifting weights started when I saw the cover of the January 1977 issue of Muscle/Power magazine photo of Mike Mentzer. I was that 115lbs weakling and I wanted to look like Mike Mentzer. I joined the Army in 1982 and continued lifting to gain size. After 24 years of military service to our great nation, I continue to lifting weights as a part of my occupational therapy as the result of injuries. That is 24 hard Army years, that is like dog years you have to multiply that by seven or something to understand how beat down I had become. My weight had ballooned up to 310lbs, and because of injuries I cannot run anymore for my cardio. That was my excuse for being fat for so long that I actually started believing it myself. I couldn't run, so I didn't do any cardio. I now think, "I cannot run, so what else is great for cardio".
Why I Love It:
I like the way working out makes me feel and look. I am learning and relearning my body on a yearly basis. What worked last year doesn't seem to fit the bill this year. My eating habits have improved and I am just learning how to take great care of myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am a self motivated individual. I fit the skin that I am in....just don't want there to be so much of it!!! HA HA HA!!! I have a goal of what I wish to look like. I want to be that sexy and muscular guy that catches and eye or two. You know, turn a couple of heads, and not because I look like a pregnant gorilla!!!
Through the kindness and encouragement of others!!! I am humbled by the outpouring of support and encouragement I have received from the members of Bodybuilding.com. It has really helped me a lot. From the bottom of my heart..."Thanks to you ALL"!!!
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost 80lbs and counting!!! I have no real Bodybuilding accomplishments. I don't plan on competing cause I am to shy. GOSH...Blush Blush!!! Maybe when I look better.....but I don't know!

I never thought I would weigh over 300lbs, here I am at 310!! Looks like I am smuggling pumpkins across the border or something!!! Can you say "Wake Up Call"!!!
I wish to be comfortable taking my shirt off. Then I flaunt the goods, because I will be one gorgeous hunk of ManCandy!!! HA HA HA!!!
Goal (Long):
I want to own one of those bodies that women give a second glance. I know that I am getting started late in life, but I have no problem being that SEXY SENIOR!!! HA HA HA!!! I would like to be around 200lbs and 9% bodyfat with etched abs, before my 45th birthday (Mar 2009).
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 100 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
9%

What supplements do you take immediately after your workout? Why?
Ultimate Nutrition's Xtreme Amino, SciVation's Xtend and BSN Syntha 6.
I take those supplement to help my body recover and build quality muscle mass. I like Syntha-6 because it contains fast medium and slow absorbing proteins to sustain positive nitrogen balance throughout the day.Ultimate Nutrition's Xtreme Amino, SciVation's Xtend and BSN Syntha 6.

What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I visualize the coming workout and listen to music.
Well Operation Andre’…(pause for effect)…ManCandy is still an ongoing adventure. I am sorry to say that I didn’t hit my first goal of 100lb weightloss by the 31st of March 2008. In fact my total weightloss has only been 70lbs. I went from 310lbs to 230lbs that was 80lbs but then...
Thanks. I am trying to get back in the swing of things. Starting a keto diet today. We will see where that takes me. So glad to have friends like you cheering me on.
Well THANKS! I just hope the sand would NOT be thrown on stage for ME. I've had enough spills (lol). Have a Happy Independence Day too and be SAFE until your return home. *smile*
