I lived most of my life as a super skinny girl. By the time I hit my late 20's I was skinny-fat so I ran, and ran, and ran...and ate one meal a day! I didn't know I was killing my muscle (what little I had to begin with) and my metabolism and I only got fluffier looking while still wearing a size 5. I didn't like hearing my friends say "you don't need to exercise" when I knew what I REALLY looked like naked! In 2000, I finally gave weight lifting a shot (since I realized cardio alone wasn't working) and improved my eating habits too. I had a 1.5 year lapse in weight training from 2004 to 2006. I've been back into regular training since July 2006.
Why I Love It:
Looking in my logs to see how far I've come makes me smile. I love to see the weights increase as my body gets stronger. Looking great naked is a plus too!
How I Stay Motivated:
The results in the mirror keep me motivated in addition to my desire to compete in a figure competition (or several!) in the future.
BB Accomplishments:
Branch Warren Classic 2008, Figure Class B - 9th place out of 12 girls.

This photo was taken one week after receiving the roman chair squat apparatus. Soft, and not much size.
Weighed in a 107.5lbs this morning due to water retention. The contest is next weekend and I'm not worried about the water since it will be gone by then. Note to self: relax my hands!
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't mind grunting. I do it myself sometimes.

What leg workout has worked best for you?
Since I train at home with limited equipment, I got a roman chair squat apparatus since its a space saving piece of equipment. It kicks my ass and is bringing about a decent quad sweep!

My dad and one of my best friends, Diane, joined my fiance and I for dinner. It was so much fun! It felt sooo good to enjoy a burger and steak fries after the show. The hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream and two Coronas was great too! Slept like a hibernating bear and then we came home...
I know what I'm having for dessert LOL Either cheesecake or ice cream cake, depending on where we go for dinner. I'm feeling like I want pasta right now, or steak and steak fries, so I'm thinking it's still Cheesecake Factory instead of Claim Jumper.
I just got my suits this morning, just got home from posing practice, feeling really excited, coach says I'm good. I'm good!! All that is left is to decide on what I want to eat after the show lol
old folk are getting it done ok it is official the scale has said 249 for 3 day!!!! I felt great when it go under 250 now there is no stopping me next 230. Change my workout around and it think thing are starting to show up as the fat goes away
Thanks! Right now I'm feeling a bit sunburned LOL And exhausted, but I did spend the last couple of days traveling. This upcoming week is going to be MISERABLE. I'm not feeling too lethargic yet, but we'll see how that changes.
thought you would like this one. to my son 16 to the gym. He has his own workout because mine SUCK because it is for old people. He said he would try the old peoples workout so today he was doing my workout and said you do this workout style 6 day a week. I said not bad for and OLD MAN. Tommorow Chest this should be fun.
