When I Started:
Sep, 1999
How I Started:
I got started when I was 14 years old. I always enjoyed having muscles and being the strong kid. I had a major set back when I was a sophomore in high school when I broke my wrist very badly. I was out of weightlifting for almost 2 and a half years due to surgery. Toward the end of my senior year in high school I started weight training again and took it very serious. I lifted weights at the university I went to and became very serious about the sport. After three years of weight training while in college I became overtained (due to my own training schedule). After having a girlfriend and becoming comfortable not going to the gym, I lost about 10 lbs of weight due to the fact of losing muscle, but on top of that I was gaining fat. About six months ago I decided to train again. I started in my basement where I could slowly build up some muscle endurance/ strength. After about a month of that I joined a gym and within 6 months have gained 14 lbs of muscle and lost almost all of my body fat through strict nutrition and training.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling I get in the gym. I love the fact that I can actually see progress through not only size and definition but through strength increase. I love the feeling accomplishment and the stress release I get in the gym.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by constantly checking the scale. I want to reach the goal of 210 lbs without gaining fat. I know this could be a few years off but I must keep this in mind to reach my goal. I also watch a lot of youtube videos of my hero dorian yates training. He is just so damn hardcore with his training it really motivates me to go in the gym and own it.
BB Accomplishments:
As dumb as this sounds it took me about 7 years to finally enjoy working my legs.

Most of my life I have been in great shape due to great genetics, but have struggled to pack on the lbs I have wanted. I would like to be 185-190 lbs by my 25th birthday. I will due this through a large gain in leg muscle, but also through an overall muscle gain. I would also like to have 19 inch arms (about a 1 1/2 in gain). Bodybuilding is the greatest sport in the world, it allows for an individual to take his energy and put it into something extremely positive.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 40 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
6%

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
a minute to minute 45 seconds. I want to keep my intensity high, but sometimes I need that extra time to rest major body parts

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
dorian yates/ frank zane. I think they are at the top of where you can take your body type. I personally would rather look like dorian cause he is just HUGE and ripped as sin, but my body type would not allow that and thats why I also really like Frank Zanedorian yates/ frank zane. Hey Dan, it looks like you definitely chose the right profession of a PE teacher. Awesome physique! Looking swole man, huge guns and an awesome horseshoe on the tri's. Great chest and incredible abs. You've been making some steady gains man. You've definitely taken some the old bad habits (party and boozing) and transformed them into some very postive habits and gains. Good luck man as you continue to put on lean mass and reach your goals.
