Machines in '04, free weights in '05, MMA training in early '06, finally incorporated deadlifts and bulked in late '06. Long beginning, eh?
Why I Love It:
Granted, the ball got rolling on this when I got serious about martial arts training, but the confidence emparted to bodybuilders is supreme. To put it simply, I can progressively handle more (in all aspects of life) which makes me wanna push myself even further.
How I Stay Motivated:
How do you get motivated to do fun stuff? For me, eating well, working out, and generally challenging myself is *intrinsically* valuable. When I finally integrated the idea that eating healthily and the like was actually a major turn toward hedonism, you find it easier to make good choices.
BB Accomplishments:
First 300lb deadlift this week. *305* to be exact!
-Handstand (and pushups)
-Dunk a basketball (I'm 6'3" for chrisssakes!)
-Ripped abdomen (I'll take bids between 4 & 8)
-Bench press 1.5x body weight (0.86x now :P)
Why I like this video: After this form check, I got some good feedback and went back to the drawing board (with less weight . . . NO EGO sonnn -> better results)
2008, January 21 - Low Bar Squat (225x5)
Played: 46
Why I like this video: Low bar squat. Thanks, Rippetoe!

Fantastic! thanks! i feel much better knowing that i really have been doing them right all along while thinking i am doing them wrong to spare my knees, and work areas i really want to grow =) NOw i can talk about going below the parallel to the people who tell me i am doing it wrong! You train?
I am sure i dont do my squats right either, i am protective of my knees, so i use light weight but at the same time i go all the way ass to ankles I naturally have big quads so i try to use them less and my butt more, Thanks for the complements!
