I first got into strength training because I want to be a fireman. I had heart surgery a couple of years ago, after which I was able to finally get serious about lifting.
Why I Love It:
It's really fun and energizing, plus I like the way I look.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hang out and train with other people who enjoy lifting as much as I do.
BB Accomplishments:
I've put on 40 pounds of muscle in the last two years, and tripled my strength.

Here's when I decided to switch from strength training to bodybuilding.
My main progress on my front has been losing some fat, but my biceps are showing a little better peak.
I just switched from strength training to bodybuilding. I'm hoping to get my body fat to around 5%, and build bigger muscle size. Ideally, I'd like to be 190 pounds cut. I believe in natural bodybuilding, and use very few supplements.
Ok, so I've had to take that last week off of lifting because I had my wisdom teeth removed. It's day 6 and I can still barely eat soup, this is pissing me off! Oh well, at least I got my gym flooring in, pics to follow.
Just restarted yesterday - Hope I haven't lost too much... Started with a good chest/biceps session. The first sessions are usually rather light to get back on track.
I'll see within a week whether I can get back to my usual weights and try to progress... Crossed fingers!
Great progress! Any not only on your biceps - your delts and chest r also getting huge!
And I'm always impressed at your lifting stats! Excellent work - wish I would follow your steps!
Don't know much about the fire / ems situation out there. I just moved to the carolinas from ohio because the carolinas have a severe shortage of medics and ohio has a extreme abundance of us. Basically research your area, stop by local firehouses and find out about the hiring process of full time applicants, IE civil service test, or qualified candidate test.
HI Wes !
Actually, I haven't got a lot to update : with the holiday period since June, I'm not training very consistently, training 1 week, setting off for 2 weeks, back 1 week again... I'll start again more seriously end of August and hope to be able to show some progress then. If it's worth the mention, I'll update my stats... Wait and see.
What about you ?
I will, but I only tested it once so far, and had to search my way to start... so I'd say this one didn't count, but I'll keep you updated if I change the stats.
