I was quite the lightweight--barely tipped the scales at 100 pounds, and was ridiculed for it, naturally. I took a weight training class, and my fitness took off from there, along with starting martial arts training. Since then, I've gained almost 75 pounds, and I look and feel much better.
Why I Love It:
The challenge. It's all about challenging myself at every workout, to take it one step higher, to push the limit just a bit farther, and to improve myself as best I can.
How I Stay Motivated:
Watching myself fill out and improve, and reading about new techniques, exercises, and ways to mix up my work outs, mainly here on Bodybuilding.com.
Awkward and skinny me pre-transformation. This was taken before I started seriously lifting--I had taken a weight training class before this, but wasn't really as interested as I was about 5 months later.
This was after some direct arm training--also, chest is somewhat fuller. Yes, I'm sporting a beard for the school play, which went splendidly.
Alright, so, after a long time off and some experimentation with training, I think I'll return to my roots and go powerlifting again. After I blew out my knee/hurt my back, I took it way too easy, and now that I'm healed, I'm back in it (taking it easy at first, of course). I'll be doing...

Hey, your abs are looking ripped, bro. All that AND after gaining 55 pounds? Incredible...really, nice work! I'll be posting my diet, exercise, and supplement routine in about a month. I'll keep you posted.
Sounds very similar, even working arms alone. I've got shoulder problems & working them with chest is just too much for me. Good luck with your training.
Hey board, I'm just pulling your leg on the doggie-vits. I train 4-on/1-off. Basically, chest, legs, shoulders/back & arms. Best of luck with your training!
Thanks for the comment, I wish I had started bodybuilding when I was 19. I strongly suggest you start doing chinups if you are not doing them already. You'll have back better than mine!!!
