When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
In December of 2003, my dad, who had been overweight all of his life and was a diabetic, died in a car wreck when he blacked out at the wheel. More recently, my mom was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and a history of diabetes in her family is starting to come to light. To top it all off, quite honestly, I got sick and tired of not being able to fit in the restraints on roller coasters (I'm a big coaster fan). So, in August, I decided it was time to stop making excuses and start doing something about my body!
Why I Love It:
Obviously I've got a long way to go, but I love knowing that I *can* transform my body, and that I *don't* have to live this way. I've always admired bodybuilders, and now I'm working on joining their ranks!
I Corinthians 16:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
I Corinthians 9:27a No, I beat my body and make it my slave.
How I Stay Motivated:
Sites like Bodybuilding.com, and the multiple bodybuilding and fitness magazines that are on the market. Not only that, I love the way I feel after a good workout! It's addicting!
When we were kids, everyone told us we could do anything. When did we stop believing?

My goal is simple, yet extremely complicated: to transform myself!
Goal (Long):
All my life I have looked up to bodybuilders and wanted to be like them. I remember watching Dorian Yates, Shawn Ray, and many others whose names escape me when I was young. I don't want to be overweight all my life and ashamed to take off my shirt!
By the end of October 2008, I want to be at a muscular 220 pounds. I don't know what a good level of bodyfat is to have, but I'm going to shoot for an even 10%.
Just entered today's workout. I'm starting from the top of the twelve week program I've been using, as I haven't been to the gym in about a month, and decided this would be the best way to get back into the swing of things. I'm also adjusting to my new job, which carries with it a schedule...
I recently bought the book The Men's Health Hard Body Plan, and I'm working the beginner program for 12 weeks. I just finished up 12 weeks on the beginner program on the all-in-one machine at my apartment complex, but I just joined a gym (finally!) and am starting over to get the maximum...
I recommend this program for great results. I was able to lose over 50 lbs going from 36 to 10% bodyfat in just 12 weeks by following the 12-week Body for Life program. My wife (bodyspace: judimax) dropped from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 by also using the same program. I have found that you get the best results by following a well-designed routine and if you challenge yourself you will be amazed at the changes and how fast they happen. Let me know if you wish more info.
i know its tough. I cant see my own progress either thats why i have people whom i trust and are very honest to give me their opinion. You can never see your own progress just like you can never be too muscular, once you get so big you just keep setting your sights on something further in the distance. It's the bodybuilders curse my friend. Dont know if it will help you but i have faith in you, but the important thing is that you have faith in yourself. Good luck
Be careful my man, that post-work out feeling is addictive. Once you get it, you look for more. Next thing you know, you'll be base jumping to feel the Rush. Keep on Keep'n on brother.
Keep pushing yourself and you will get to where you want to be. Don't put all of your faith in diet pills because the real secret if there really is one is in eating 5 or 6 clean, small, healthy meals a day, working out with weights 3 -4 times per week and doing cardio at least 3 times a week.
Do that and the diet pill mfg'ers will soon be out of business. Keep pushing yourself to be the best you can be.
you can!! hey first thingto do is right down your goal s and pu tthwm on the fridge your mirrors and you head board of your bed that way you will constanly know you can do and will do it, i wish you the best and please ask me anything if you need to!
