"Someday I'll be in that itsy bitsy bikini... but for now, the goal is to be the best I can be, and still have a life. ;)"

When I Started:
Jun, 2003
How I Started:
Family vacation photos in 2003 - real eye opener! Decided to make a change, and have been working out and trying to eat "clean" ever since.
Why I Love It:
I actually hate working out, especially cardio, but I love the peaceful feeling after a hard workout. And the feeling of accomplishment, especially when I can increase the weights. And my hubby grabbing my bum whenever he passes by. ;)
How I Stay Motivated:
I try to keep trips planned where I need to look my best, or be able to fit in my bikini. Other than that, keeping up with a husband 11 years my junior and two young stepsons keeps me going. Have to be able to whip out that can of whoop-ass on their butts every now and again!
BB Accomplishments:
I take good photos of bodybuilders... does that count? :)

This was taken in Fall 2003, before I started taking control of my weight. I don't know how much I weighed then, but I can guarantee it was over 200 pounds. This was one of the eye-opener photos.
This was an accident... the camera went off as I was backing away. But I guess it caught my abs unawares, cuz there they are!!! Woo hoo!
I guess I've fallen off the wagon for good. I've discovered a way to get functional workouts every day... raise birds. LOTS and LOTS of birds. Up to 158 and growing, between the quail, the chickens, the ducks, and the turkeys. I haul 50# bags of feed routinely, as well as 5-8 gallon...
Sounds like fun!! :) I'm doing great. I try not to have much time either, but I keep coming back to it. Every time I see something like the Alaska Experiment or Tougher In Alaska on TV, I'm like, "shooot! vyancey is LIVIN' that!" LOL!
Haulin' lumber and bricks! You ARE a hard core fitness woman! That's old school. Yeah, I am sticking with it. I have been riding more and more and working out a little sporadically over the past two weeks, but I am a little more focused this week. I'm out of town next week, so I'm not sure how I will do at keeping my workouts going then.
Hey there! How are YOU, blue-eyed chicken lady from Alaska? Bulgarian Split Squats? Did you make that up?!? Sounds like something that should not be attempted without a spotter. LOL!
Yeah, under the BB and out of the kitchen is all good! Be careful though. A squashed chicken lady is not a good thing. Glad that you are still at it! Keep up the hard work.
Yeah, busy here too. Busy is good though. Nothin' new on my end, except I joined a gym for the first time ever. It's fun, and I can lift more without worrying about a barbell crashing down on me.
Your workouts are good! I think it's more about the # of reps than the amount of weight. As long as you keep challenging yourself, it's enough weight! And what the chickens don't know won't hurt them... well, I guess that doesn't apply here, but you get the idea. Good to hear from you. Enjoy the balmy weather! LOL. When do you guys start seeing some sunshine again? Pretty soon, right?
