STARTED OUT AT 15 IN A GYM IN ROME GA. CALLED "BOB'S BODY SHOP" THEN I MOVED OUT OF MY PARENTS HOME WHILE I WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL (LOT'S OF CONFLICT BETWEEN MY PARENTS) AND MOVED INTO THE LOCAL YMCA. DOWN STAIRS WAS A BIG WEIGHT ROOM WITH SOME GUYS THAT WERE COMPETITIVE LIFTERS(GUY'S W/21"ARMS) THAT TRAINED THERE. EARLY ON THEY DIDN'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO ME WHEN I WOULD ASK QUESTIONS BUT AFTER SEEING ME AROUND FOR MONTHS AND LEARNING THAT I ACTUALLY LIVED UPSTAIRS AND STILL GOING TO SCHOOL,PLAYING HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND HAD A PART TIME JOB TO PAY ROOM AND BOARD I EVENTUALLY EARNED THEIR RESPECT. I WOULD COPY EVERY THING THEY WERE DOING.(WITH MUCH LIGHTER WEIGHT) IT WAS THEN I THINK THEY SAW MY HART AND TOOK ME UNDER THEIR WING. IN THOSE DAY'S STEROIDS WERE USED AMONG THE MOST SERIOUS LIFTERS AND LIKE MOST YOUNG GUYS I THOUGHT THIS WAS WHAT ALL THE GUYS DID TO GET BIG QUICK,HOWEVER THESE GUYS TAUGHT ME THAT THESE DRUGS ARE NOT FOR BEGINNERS AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WITHOUT PROPER USE DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT UNTIL YOU'VE HAD AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF STEADY AND CONSISTENT LIFTING OF THE BASICS DEAD LIFTS,SQUATS AND BENCH PRESS AND THEN ONLY IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE A LIVING AT THE SPORT AND DO LOT'S AND LOT'S OF READING BEFORE USING. THIS I NEVER FORGOT AND THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT THING TO TEACH A YOUNG AND ENTHUSIASTIC BODYBUILDER AND AFTER SOME TIME TRAINING WITH THOSE GUYS I STARTED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT GYM LIFE WAS REALLY ALL ABOUT (DIET & TRAINING & READING) AND SOON THERE AFTER BECAME A GYM RAT FOR LIFE. AS I REFLECT BACK ON THOSE BEGINNING DAYS I THINK THAT MOST GUYS DON'T GET THIS KIND OF HONESTY AND UPFRONT ADVICE & I'M FOREVER GRATEFUL TO THOSE GUYS. THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS GUYS JUST HARD WORK AND CLEAN EATING AND LOTS OF READING!!!
Why I Love It:
ITS THE ONLY SPORT THAT I HAVE TOTAL CONTROL OVER AND THE FACT I ONLY COMPETE WITH MYSELF AND MY OWN GOALS. LIVING THIS LIFESTYLE YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT I'VE LEARNED TO LOVE THE RESULTS THAT COMES FROM LIVING A FITNESS LIFESTYLE. ITS ALWAYS ABOUT THE RESULTS OF WHAT COMES OUT OF THE EATING AND TRAINING THAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST REWARDS! IT'S A DAILY FIX THAT ALLOWS ME TO GO INTO MY OWN LITTLE WORLD AND SCULPT AND CHISEL AWAY AT WHAT I SEE IN MY MINDS EYE THEN GO BACK INTO THE REAL WORLD AND AM READY TO WORK THROUGH LIFE'S DAY TO DAY CHALLENGES!
How I Stay Motivated:
WHEN I LOOK AT MY KIDS I THINK TO MYSELF HOW I WANT TO SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THEM TO LIVE BY. I HOPE AS THEY GROW OLDER THEY WILL THINK BACK ON HOW DAD WAS SO WHEN IT COMES TIME TO MAKE THEIR OWN PERSONAL FITNESS CHOICES THEY WILL THINK BACK AND WANT TO BE SOMEWHAT LIKE HIM.
BB Accomplishments:
AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE MILITARY AND WENT BACK TO MY HOME TOWN GYM IN ROME GA. A COUPLE OF MY HIGH SCHOOL BUDDIES GOT INVOLVED IN PROFESSIONANL WRESTLING WHILE I WAS GONE. AT THAT TIME I REALLY HAD NO INTEREST IN GETTING INVOLVED BUT WE LIFTED TOGETHER ALL THE TIME AND THEY KEPT ON AND ON ABOUT WHAT GREAT TIME THEY HAVE SO I WENT TO A FEW MATCHES AND SOON STARTED TRAINING IN THE RING. I GOT STARTED JUST BY ASSOCIATION IT WAS'NT SOMETHING I EVER REALLY THOUGHT OF DOING. SO I BECAME PART OF GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FEDERATION FOR ABOUT A 5 YEAR STINT AFTER GORDON SOLEY DIED THAT ORGANIZATION WAS ABSORBED BY MID SOUTH WRESTLING AND I MOVED ON. THEN I BEGAN TO FOCUS MORE ON COMPETING IN POWER LIFTING EVENTS AND EVENTUALLY PROGRESSED TO BODY BUILDING. I'VE COMPETED IN SEVERAL NPC SHOWS OVER THE YEARS SINCE THEN THE MOST RECENT ARE 2005 GATEWAY CLASSIC AND THE 2006 GATEWAY CLASSIC.

TEACHING KIDS ABOUT THE FOODS THEY EAT EARLY IN LIFE HELPS THEM QUESTION THE FOODS THEIR OFFERED LATER.JUNK FOOD WILL BE STUFFED IN THEIR FACE ALL THEIR LIFE'S.
THIS LAST FEBRUARY I SET A GOAL TO GET VERY LEAN AND CUT FOR THIS NEXT YEAR AND GOT VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT IT SUCH AS DROPPING 26 LBS. BY RESTRICTING MY DIET TO SPECIFIC FOODS INTRODUCING 4 DAYS OF HIIT TRAINING AND 2 DAYS OF SLOWER CARDIO AND USING GIANT SETS WHEN WEIGHT TRAINING. THIS ALL...
was 59 yesterday and windy enough to blow pooh bear away..lol, today is a bit better, but the fall chill is in the air. I agree with the good sleeping weather...how have you been? you like HIIT - you do on treadmill at all?
Let's just say that I've definately looked a heck of a lot better, so it's VERY frustrating.. even though I'm improving day-by-day... I'm just waiting to look in the mirror and see me at my best, still quite a few weeks away from that :( BUT.. the workout is going SPLeNDiD!!
Really liked your workout posted in the 6-week transformation forum.. I'm thinking about giving it a whirl. In fact, I'm 99.9% sure I am gonna start your plan, tomorrow. I've been struggling with an eating disorder and wound up gaining 30 lbs. of pure bodyfat since Easter. I've been looking for a jump-start to get me back into my precontest body ASAP and yours looks very enticing. Thanks for sharing :)
