Overall Goal: I am going to work on building muscle on the lower half of my body in preperation for my next contest. Projected contest date March 2010.
Fit Status:
Taking a well deserved recovery day after an intense workout at the track yesterday!
I was in a car crash 09/01/06 and had to have knee surgery. Dr advised that I need to lose weight and gain muscle tone to heal. I have lost 30 lbs and I'm working on increasing muscle mass and losing fat.
Why I Love It:
I love to see the transformation my body has taken over these past few months. It also helps me to stay grounded and relaxed. When I am shadow boxing or punching a bag, I am focused and almost in a meditation state. During weight lifting I concentrate on perfecting my form to maximize my results.
How I Stay Motivated:
I remember what it felt like at 195 lbs... having no energy, never wanting to get off the couch, and hating myself. That keeps me motivated to continue in the right direction. I know I have a ways to go to reach my strengh goals. I have also gained an interest in nutrition and fitness and plan to get my degree in that field.
BB Accomplishments:
Reducing the pain of my knee injury and also strengthing my core to help with the herniated disk in my lower back. Everday I look in the mirror and see a stronger and more confident person. I have also helped some of my friends begin the journey to reach their fitness goals.

I lost 35 lbs but I now want to concentrate on toning and firming. My goal weight is 155 of lean muscle. I'm 5'9 and large framed so that puts me right where I need to be on BMI.

Goal (Long):
I want to look and feel stronger. I want to be ready to compete again in March 2010. I am going to concentrate on building muscle and until January and then go into lean down. I want to focus on my legs and glutes to have a more sculpted lower body at my next contest.
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
I am currently in building phase but I follow the "Clean Eating" diet by Tosca Reno and I try to eat plenty of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins. I do eat carbs, but I try to make sure they are whole complex carbs. I avoid sugar, with the exception of some honey, as I find that it causes me problems with my skin. I am currently holding to 1800-2000 kcal per day intake with 120-150 grams protein, 150-200 grams carbs, and <40 grams fat. Since you've been working out, taking supplements and eating right, how often do you get sick (cold, flu, etc.)?
Very rarely

Do you have any type of chronic disease or condition?
I took a back progress photo last night and I am very happy to see the changes I have made. I know I have worked hard but sometimes you do not realize it until you see the pictures. I see a definate improvement in my v-taper and I have a lot more muscle definition. I hope to see the same kind...
tammy - thank you so much for rating one of my pics - and a 10 from such a beautiful lady as yourself - well that made my day. best wishes in your contest prep and all that you do. - jeff
