I first had the desire to compete when I watched the figure show at the Arnold Classic in 2004. Thought it would be a great way to challenge myself as a retired college athlete and also promote my healhty restaurant, www.OctaneCafe.com, to fitness-minded people within the industry. I am thankful to be an IFBB Pro Figure athlete, and each show challenges me in new ways.
Why I Love It:
My workouts are my form of meditation. I push myself beyond my comfort zone and gain a sense of accomplishemnt from each workout. If I can push myself mentally through a hard workout, I know I can take on challenges that life throws my way. Working out gives me more energy to achieve my goals throughout the day and gives me the confidence in my body to stand out in a positive way.
How I Stay Motivated:
Inspiring others to adopt the fitness lifestyle is a huge motivator for me. I want to live as an example that it is possible to take care of your body and mind in this busy world that seems to facilitate low standards for health and quality of life.
I use my cardio workout time to study my personal values and goals to keep me pumped up during the workout. It's a great way to train the body and the mind at the same time, so I rarely want to skip out on the opportunity.
BB Accomplishments:
Earning a Figure Pro Card in less than a year! Sharing the stage with the top figure athletes I look up to. Placing in the top ten in my first Olympia (2005) and Arnold (2006). Earning the Champion Title at the Colorado Pro Figure (2006). I've had the tremendous opportunity to be featured on the covers of MANY major magazines: FLEX (Mar.2006), Muscle&Fitness HERS (Jan/Feb 2006), and Oxygen (Nov.2006)
And now, as many of you may know, I am "SIREN" on the new AMERICAN GLADIATORS show on NBC Mondays. Because of the exposure I have received, I am now able to live my FitMission dream of helping billions. I am available for ONE-ON-ONE phone coaching and for your next event as a guest movtivational speaker.

Hi Valerie! My first show went great. I won the Heavyweight line-up and qualified to go to the IFBB South African Champs. I decided not to peak at this show or to come in so hard and so I sacrificed the Overall Title. I want to peak at SA's and take the Overall Title there. Current weight - 241.34lbs. Competition pics are up. Check them out and let me know what you think. Fun and games will start know. I will be dropping another 8.8 to 11lbs %1.5% bodyfat.
