I started when I was around 13 years old by doing pushups, using an expander and loading a samsonite briefcase with books, putting a broomstick through the handle and curling it from the backside of a chair, hehe :) I got my first membership at age 15 and continued to workout while in the Army, but it wasn't until I got out that I met a bodybuilding friend that taught me what true intensity really was and how to properly train for bodybuilding. I thought that my genetics were good and really considered pursuing competing and taking things to the next level. This was a bad time though, not really for me, but for the sport. Momo had died, several athletes were having well known health problems both on and off-stage, Dennis Newman (a popular young pro at the time) had just been diagnosed with bloodcancer - rumored to be linked to his HGH use, Muenzer then died too and his anabolic stack was published... all of this really affected how I saw those that I aspired so much to be like. I still wanted to compete at least once though myself and while preparing for that I caught a virus that hit my lungs, leaving me unable to even complete a full sentence without gasping for air... that ruined EVERYTHING and that is now about 10 years ago. I had stopped working out during this time, pissed off at how years of training could just go down the drain within a month, not to mention taking a huge financial hit and not being able to afford this luxury anymore. After all of these years, I have had a lifestyle change and weights are very much an important part of my life... again and I am VERY grateful for 'muscle memory'! ...even old ambitions have been rekindled ;) We'll see what the future brings.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Goals! Make them, visualize them, keep them in mind. Also remember why they are important for you.

What tricep workout has worked best for you?
Pushups!! I used to do pushups all the time... before bed, when I woke up, getting home from school... That has really helped a lot! I barely have to work my triceps now (although I still hit them hard) but I'm currently trying to work the 'long head' specifically and skull crushers and close grip bench press are doing a great job of that!Pushups!! Why I like this video: I think that these guys did a lot for bodybuilding and may have made a few corny movies but they never took themselves too seriously anyways... this was a good example :)
I thought to be important to put this somewhere as it basically describes myself prior to becoming active again, as well as my transformation throughout the 12-week Body for Life Challenge. This essay also went on with my official package to the judges for this years contest. I know that all of...
