When I Started:
Nov, 2007
How I Started:
2 years ago, I turned 30 and decided to increase my pace of moving my feet forward from walking to jogging. I never ran before in my life outside of running from security or from harm. Of course, that was all during High School.. ;) Running a mere block required me to stop with lungs burning. 2 years have passed since the day I decided to up it a notch and I just completed my first 50 mile race at the Helen Klein Classic in 8:58:35. My primary goal was to finish before the cutoffs (12 hours) and my "dream" goal was to finish before 9 hours. I finished under 9 hours!!!!!!!
Why I Love It:
I just recently started lifting.. Mainly to support upper body as I'm receiving great lower body workouts from lots of running/mountain training.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have several goals that I set for myself. Some goals are near term. Others are years down the road. I always have something to look forward to.
BB Accomplishments:
None to speak of. I have just recently started lifting.

This was me pushing close to 240. I was focused on succeeding in life, but not giving a second thought to treating myself great and succeeding in personal health and fitness.
Happy inside and outside. Life is sweet!

Since I started bringing lifting into my overall workout, I started getting sick more.  I ignored the signs of a weakened immune system and continued to trek through my workouts.  Like an idiot, I ignored all signs and thought that I found a balance.
Before I started lifting, I was able...
