When I Started:
Jan, 2000
How I Started:
I started working out because i joined the football team. I weighed around 250 at the time, at an amazingly tall stature of 5'9''. Pretty soon after football, i joined the powerlifting team and my love for lifting weights was born. I dropped the weight and bottomed out around 142, since then it's been a steady climb into the hot seat. I'm weighing in around 203 now, but i'm looking for about 15 more pounds. Slow and steady, enjoy the ride.
Why I Love It:
i think i'm OCD compulsive about it. Even if i don't want to work out, i have to or i feel horrible. I feel great after a good workout, it seems like it's my balance in the day.
How I Stay Motivated:
Most of the time I can motivate myself just by putting on some good workout music, and the first thing that pops in my mind is..."This would be better if i was lifting." Competition has helped me to stay in the gym too. Not competing in any bodybuilding show, but more the competition between me and my peers in the gym. I've got an alpha male mentality and when someone does something better than me or lifts more weight than me, I get extremely competitive. I have to beat that person. It's a blessing and a curse..it's helped me to push my limits and sometimes push all the way to injury. I guess i'm still in one piece though, so who am i to complain.
BB Accomplishments:
always wanted to be in a show, but never got the chance. My major bodybuilding accomplishment, to me, would have to be just getting my body together and staying fit. If that's even a BB accomplishment???
