It all began with me seeing a weight training book by Franco Columbo (my bodybuilding hero). I had been fairly skinny all of my life and seeing Franco started me to see how to change. I started lifting with a friend in high school on make shift bench and weight set. Then, I got really serious in my sophomore year in college.
Why I Love It:
My body has grown quite well over the years. I enjoy both my muscular look and strength. I enjoy the compliments from others. I most enjoy honoring my Lord with abilities He has given me.
How I Stay Motivated:
First as a Christian, I feel this is a way for me to honor and glorify my God. Second, I enjoy camaraderie between my fellow sisters and brothers of the iron. Hope to get bigger and stronger.
BB Accomplishments:
Benching my bodyweight and now finally breaking the 225lbs barrier.

Hit 8-10%bf by end of November or December and maintain as much muscle mass as possible. Bring out the definition, veins and abs finally.
Goal (Long):
I would like to be 210-220lbs at 10% bodyfat, have a 48-50in chest, 18-19in guns (flexed), be able bench 4 plates (405lbs), barbell row 315lbs, curl 200lbs, weighted dip at 135lbs (three plates), shoulder press three plates (315lbs) and deadlift 6 plates (585lbs) all for 6 perfect reps. Squat 6 plates (585lbs) for 10 reps.
However, I look forward to the day to blow past these goals. Ultimately, I will continue to develop my body and strength to its absolute limit. Hopefully, I still have lots more room to grow and develop.
He's been my friend from the beginning here on bodyspace and continues to pump me up to tackle the mountain of my ultimate goals. A fellow freak inspiring a freak like me.
He has achieved a level of size and strength naturally that is at the pinnacle of what many of us strive for. However as he taught me, this pinnacle is very much achievable and it is so without the use of steroids. While excelling in size and strength, he still demonstrates looking at what we do more broadly, such as improving power and speed. He helped in freeing my mind and tackling those seemingly impossible but possible dreams. I've made and continue to make quantum leaps in bbing.
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
One of the biggest areas is realizing what I can truly accomplish. If this barrier of benching over 200lbs was achievable, what other things have I thought unattainable or unachievable? I've found this to be such an incredibly freeing realization. So much so, I want others a chance to experience the same thing. One of the biggest areas is realizing what I can truly accomplish. What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
First, I didn't push myself nearly as hard as I should and I didn't trust myself that I could do it. I also over-analyzed each exercise and workout design rather than just doing it.

As some of you probably already know, I have completed a very long mass cycle and going to be doing a cut/fat loss cycle starting beginning of next week. This week is a rest week and intended to allow things to heal up and fully recover. One of the big issues I faced...
After trying many workouts put out by Muscle and Fitness, I have decided to keep a rotation going of different workout schemes. I figure that the variety will help continue to stimulate gains and keep interest.
Currently, I have been doing sort of a synthesis approach. That is, the...
thanx.. happy thanksgiving to you to..and if i can get my wheels where i need them to be..i should be able to get there no problem..always seems like theres a set back of some sort just when im hitting my stride again..
thanx man i appreciate that..ya i always seem to look on average 15lbs or so bigger then i appear..i wish it showed up on scale tho.. heaviest ive been was 201 lb ..its a struggle but we will see..
Power cleans and the like are tough and I am playing it safe for sure, but you can only get as big as your strenght will allow, so upping the strenght should eventually translate into an increase in mass. We'll see how things progress.
Man o man I keep meaning to come by and say hi and get tied up everytime!!!! So hey bro Have a happy Thanksgiving, just remember that WE should be giving thanks EVERY day!!! Peace and God bless brother!!!
Just posted a blurp on the blog about what has been going on with me. Made a number of changes after encountering a couple of things in some reading of late. We'll see how it goes ... look forward to seeing what everything looks like bro when you get down to where you want to be. cool!
I see that your BF% is still working it's way down. I just got back from vacation a couple days ago. No real coasters this time but I did visit DL Resort and Universal. Loved the Simpsons ride btw! Hope all is going well for you as always!
With your lvl of intensity and commitment I know you will make it. It is ok to take a step back to get two steps forward as well. If you have to carbo-load for a week to get your body back to losing weight it is fine...convincing your self to do it is another thing. Good luck you look great bud. In Christ, J
