It all began with me seeing a weight training book by Franco Columbo (my bodybuilding hero). I had been fairly skinny all of my life and seeing Franco started me to see how to change. I started lifting with a friend in high school on make shift bench and weight set. Then, I got really serious in my sophomore year in college.
Why I Love It:
My body has grown quite well over the years. I enjoy both my muscular look and strength. I enjoy the compliments from others. I most enjoy honoring my Lord with abilities He has given me.
How I Stay Motivated:
First as a Christian, I feel this is a way for me to honor and glorify my God. Second, I enjoy camaraderie between my fellow sisters and brothers of the iron. Hope to get bigger and stronger.
BB Accomplishments:
Benching my bodyweight and now finally breaking the 225lbs barrier.

Hit 8-10%bf by end of November or December and maintain as much muscle mass as possible. Bring out the definition, veins and abs finally.
Goal (Long):
I would like to be 210-220lbs at 10% bodyfat, have a 48-50in chest, 18-19in guns (flexed), be able bench 4 plates (405lbs), barbell row 315lbs, curl 200lbs, weighted dip at 135lbs (three plates), shoulder press three plates (315lbs) and deadlift 6 plates (585lbs) all for 6 perfect reps. Squat 6 plates (585lbs) for 10 reps.
However, I look forward to the day to blow past these goals. Ultimately, I will continue to develop my body and strength to its absolute limit. Hopefully, I still have lots more room to grow and develop.
This guy tells me like it is and does so constructively. Not to mention he is a true beast bodybuilding wise. Thanks for your help and inspiration for me to reach higher, bigger and stronger than ever. This should help in reaching my true potential. Way to go Beast!
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
One of the biggest areas is realizing what I can truly accomplish. If this barrier of benching over 200lbs was achievable, what other things have I thought unattainable or unachievable? I've found this to be such an incredibly freeing realization. So much so, I want others a chance to experience the same thing. One of the biggest areas is realizing what I can truly accomplish. What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
First, I didn't push myself nearly as hard as I should and I didn't trust myself that I could do it. I also over-analyzed each exercise and workout design rather than just doing it.

As some of you probably already know, I have completed a very long mass cycle and going to be doing a cut/fat loss cycle starting beginning of next week. This week is a rest week and intended to allow things to heal up and fully recover. One of the big issues I faced...
After trying many workouts put out by Muscle and Fitness, I have decided to keep a rotation going of different workout schemes. I figure that the variety will help continue to stimulate gains and keep interest.
Currently, I have been doing sort of a synthesis approach. That is, the...
WHats up BRO!!! I'm just gettin ready to log off for the night....wanted to wish you an AWESOME weekend!!! Church on Sunday for you? God is GREAT MAN!!!! oh and how do I get the guac hook up?!?!?! lol I'm jealous
lol, how would you offend me? but no I dont get offended, life is too short, but I have to stand corrected about lack of energy... ur gettin enough calories, imo, and plenty of carbs FOR SURE.... protein intake is good ur over 1.5 on training days and 1.25 on days off....nothing STANDS OUT, guessing all you can do is make sure your getting the right low glycemic carbs for sustained energy. And I'm guessing ALL your fats are coming AVACADOS right now LOL
I think the loss of strength and staying power is directly realted to the protein and amoni acid intake mainly because ur not on a low carb diet. Remember where your energy comes from and the order in which your body takes it....you're gonna use the atp in your muscles for contraction...those atp stores only last for a few seconds...next your body is breaking down the muscle back into aminos and using THAT for energy...
Im not shamelessly pl***in Scivation but they're XTEND product is great I drink it during my w/out seems to help better than anything I've tried before for recovery and yes in addition to whats in your whey definately reevaluate your protein intake i didnt realize how little I was getting til I started logging my food intake Wow! what an eye opener I was barely getting 200 per day since upping that adding the Xtend and making sure i'm eating immediately post work out, things are going better!
Are you losing strength too? This cut I'm doing now I haven't lost any noticeable strength, which to me means minimal muscle loss. I actaully went up 4lbs and down 1.4% BF in the last two weeks. The MOST important thing I've realized is YES the protein intake, I'm at 336 grams right now and second is post workout meal and making sure I'm gettin my bcaa's and my glutamine especially... for recovery because of the calorie restricted diet....
Sorry bro, been slammed!! Nice work man!! that front relaxed pic is where I can see the MOST noticeable difference, pecs taking good shape, abs starting to outline....and just lookin BIG!!!!
Thanks, T, I am really happy with the Scivation diet and training plans I have followed. Now, if I can just create my own T-clipse that would be sweet! -Jeff
I think the new pics are awesome, looks like you are getting leaner, but still holding on good Mass. You can also tell the definition coming into your trap areas
With the bench, I just haven't attempted it yet, until strength gets more significant. I think it has though. week before I couldn't do 245 incline, I did it last week for 10 reps,2 sets, hopefully in a week an half, I can get to 250 +
yea man, I'm 246 and I'm actually bigger than I was at 258, less bodyfat and more detailed. lines still show good. Arms are way bigger than they every been and back is thicker and I'm only 6 and half weeks from my prior competition. So off season is going great. My bench needs to go up.. Since on new off seaon, haven't did 315 yet on bench but have done 405 for 6 on deads.
LOL naa man is all good - glad is done for now and i can breath for a week - took 4th which is cool - was tuff show lots of great guys that looked amazing!
Hey Tim, I looked at the new pictures and I can see the definition starting to return. But what really caught my attention was how wide your back has gotten! Cool - keep up the great work!
Yeah man, i always wanna vs the people I know, don't care if I win or not, would be awesome to see the comparisons lmao. You beat Josh one day.. Your teacher lol!
