Background

When I Started: Jan 2012
HOW I STARTED:

I got tired of complaining year after year about being overweight and not really doing anything about it. This year I decided to take ownership and make a commitment. I want to do more then just lose weight....I want to redesign myself. Create my true essence!

WHY I LOVE IT:

Loving the energy!!! Makes me feel great and gives me something to do!

Moment of truth.....

Had a horrible day! Horrible day...almost near tears!!! Matter of fact in honesty I did cry..... Normally at this moment I would look to something sweet and chocolate or fried and crunchy for comfort. But I want to break the cycle....I want to lose this weight so instead I am sharing here and I will work extra hard at the weights tonight. I can do this, no matter what I can do this

How to handle disappointment?!?!?......

I am about 12 days away from my first goal and I am a little afraid that I am not going to make it. Even though I know this first month was rough, filled with setbacks (some controllable, some not controllable), I can’t help feeling disappointed and I haven’t even gotten to the first goal date.


Which leads me to think…..how will I handle disappointment? Well, this is what I am going to do: Be happy for the accomplishments I did make, find my areas for improvement and move forward. I won’t wallow in self pity; eat a bunch of junk or worst…QUIT. This journey is about me and I ne

Week 1

Whew - week 1 is complete!  Woo hoo!  Even though it did not go as planned I am still excited and encouraged.  I precooked my meals, made protein bars and tried to eat 6 times a day (I can get to five...that last one always gets me).  I made a conscious effort to try and do better and I believe it is starting to pay off.  I lost 1.8 pounds(I was actually at 241 at the beginning of week 1 but didn't update) and I haven't been to the gym yet.

MaryMermaid Hi- I'm doing well, still stuck around my same old numbers. I need to hit the gym harder and eat less junk.Got to get back on track! You look great, just saw your newest progress pics, I really see changes in your mid section, that's awesome! What is your 12 week plan? We do a 12 week thing for chest,we add weight each week and do four sets to failure.I'm adding 5 pounds a week to my bench, my husband adds 25 a week,we can see we are getting stronger.Is your 12/plan weights or cardio or both? MaryMermaid Hey there- Wanted to tell you I tried the Jacked, sort of...I took a half scoop before Triceps on Friday at like 5 pm. I knew I was going to be staying up late so I thought it would be fun. I took it too close to my workout so it didn't do much for my Tricep routine but I did want to keep going after my last set which is not normal for me! It did make me a bit jittery. I used to be a binge weekend eater too (still difficult during our SPECIAL TIME of the month ;o), but what I found to help me in the beginning was keeping a journal of my eating and the times I'm suppose to eat (it took some getting used to eating 5-6 times a day) lol! Which program are you on? Yes, I gotta keep working on those abs.. quite exciting... TOTAL MOTIVATION to keep going! You have a good one, I'm off to the gym! Apr 16, 2012 9:27am
