Friday down, saturday and sunday to go...

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 5:36pm
Today went well.  I was able to stick to healthy foods, keep snacking to a minimum, and forced myself to get in a cardio session as soon as my son went to sleep.  Tomorrow's the real test though.  The morning should be easy but I'm scared about lunch time.  I'm bringing my son to the Boston Garden for Disney on Ice so I'm worried about what I'll end up eating for lunch.  Anyone who's been to a professional sporting arena knows that they're not exactly "health friendly".  We're leaving at 10am and probably wont get home until around 5pm.  I'm hoping...

Working on a new weekend schedule

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 5:36pm
Last weekend and weeks prior to that have been tough for me.  I have custody of my 2 year old son on weekends so getting to the gym and eating right has been a big problem for me. I've seen so many mothers with incredible bodies at the gym during the week that I figure if they can find the time to drop their pregnancy weight, I have no excuses to why I can't drop my extra lbs.  Unfortunately, my gym doesn't offer daycare on weekends so that option isn't there for me.  I figure that if I can pre-plan my weekend workouts and meals I should be able to get everything done that needs...

Quick stumble but right back on the horse

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 5:36pm
I had my son this weekend so going to the gym was not an option for me.  I thought that I would be able to jump on the elliptical machine down in the living room when he went to bed.  Unfortunately, he wore me out during the day and refused to go to bed until he literally passed out on the couch around 10PM each night so I wasn't able to get any workouts in. (he's 2 by the way) After waiting on him 24 hours a day the last thing I wanted to do was make myself something healthy to eat.  So I took the easy road and ate a bunch of crap this weekend...  and to top it off, I went...

azorean hi hows u doing Jun 5, 2008 12:15pm
PhxSwimGuy
PhxSwimGuy Good job getting cut. I saw your abs question. You might try a swimmer's bridge. It is like a normal bridge with your body facing the ground and forearms supporting a straight back down to your toes. The swimmer part--lift one foot off the ground, point your toes and simulate a slow kick with the one leg. To kick it up a notch, lift the opposite arm off the ground and extend it forward as if gliding on the water. This will create a cross body torsion that should work all areas of your core. MaybeMoreAbs
MaybeMoreAbs the 'Abercrombies' are what is known as the 'Adonis Girdle' (because it is like a belt, the old name 'girdle' from greek mythology applies.) Adonis was a mythical dude who was TOO in love with his looks. I think he fell into a pond when he was looking at his reflection and drowned. So be sure to keep some bodyfat, it helps you float!
