I used to be an ops manager for 24 Hour Fitness and figured I may as well use the free membership when I found out I was over 23% BF. I got more interested in fitness as I learned more anatomy while getting my degree in Massage Therapy.
Why I Love It:
Seeing myself get closer to each goal and the increased self confidence that accompanies it. Feels great to be in the best shape of my life!
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing all the unfit people around and hoping that I can motivate them to find fitness. I have little tolerance for apathy toward unfit living. I never want to be the person I left behind. My new lifestyle has brought me more happiness than anything else and I hope others will find the same. I'm always willing to help others to the best of my ability. Its the least I can do out of respect for those who've done the same for me.
BB Accomplishments:
-Marrying GeminiJedi! (12/27/07)
-Featured Success Story on MyBodySite.com (6/23/09)
-Breaking 200lbs (3/4/08)
-Gaining 52lbs of lean mass in 2 Years (164@24% to 204@13%)

Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. Work on addressing areas of weakness between now and January, then diet down for my first show (possibly two shows) in April
Goal (Long):
Eventually I'd like to reach an off season weight of 240lbs at 10% BF and qualify for a national level bodybuilding show. My Perpetual Goal is to convince more ladies that want to "just tone up" to train like builders!
Hit quads good and hard late last night. Already feeling it a bit I arrived to work (my part time one at a gym) to find that I was recruited to be the muscle to start rearranging machines. So shuffling around about 50 pieces of cardio equipment back and forth wasn't difficult, but I know this...
Adam! Good to hear from you and see you are aiming at doing some shows ... impressive. I decided to take this week off. Staying away from the gym might prove difficult as the week presses on, but I have been hitting it pretty hard up to this point. July was the last time I took a similar break, so I'm due. I have bumped the diet up a bit - right around 2400 [31%p,51%c,19%f].
hey thanks for the information. I heard was thinking that about my intake but wasnt sure. I sure as heck dont want to put my body into a starvation mode. I think this next week coming up i will try for the higher intake of food and continue to monitor my carb intake, so as not to let my body store them.
My carbs havent really been restricted at all recently and my split has been three days on one day off. I have taken a couple extra recovery days here and there but my strength is still gone.
I do have a couple sizable cheat meals on Saturdays - that is probably how I get away with it, but I think too you may have more active employment than myself. I do feel a wee bit of a deficit in the afternoons, but I tough it out. When I was up over 2500 I seemed I would loose the leanness. I'm slowly introducing some diet tips I picked up off Lane Norton's DVD. We'll see what happens. Good to hear from you Adam.
Cool, I am looking forward to seeing what you have up your training sleeve! I've been following the Scivation Tri-Phase training plan for the past six weeks with solid gains. Six more weeks and then I will change it up maybe another 5X5 to take me to Jan 1 then its contest prep time once again. Hopefully I'll be near 190 lbs before my cut. -Jeff
Hey Adam, just checking in with you. It seems that all is well on your end. I've been working at adding lean mass while keeping my BF in check. Hopefully I'll get another 10 lbs on before Jan 1. -Jeff
Yes, Interesting to read. It is a clear respons to the "Paralysis of Numberalysis" which is unconciously trying to get into the system because of your trustfully counting of the rep numbers on the paper. There is more to it than just following your paper-goal.
