Got interested thru high school sports like most people. The desire never went away. In August 07 I decided to train for my first competition. No Looking Back Now!!!
Why I Love It:
The pump. The challenge. The knowledge. The confidence. Friends I have made. The payoff - great health and good appearance.
How I Stay Motivated:
1. All of the people on bodybuilding.com
2. Look in the mirror.
3. The idea of living a longer, healthier life.
and
4. MY FOUR TROPHIES from my first two events.
BB Accomplishments:
The 2007 USBF Baltimore Pro-Amateur Natural Competition
1st Place Novice Heavyweight (yes at 154lbs, I was in Heavy. Big Under 154lbs turnout)
Runner UP - Novice Overall
3rd Place - Lightweight Open
The 2007 Charm City Classic - Bmore, MD
1st Place Novice Lightweight
Runner UP - Novice Overall
3rd Place - Lightweight Open
In general, the way I look today is my biggest accomplishment. Working out is tough. Just being disciplined enough to make it to the gym with consistency is a good enough accomplishment for me. Lots of folks fall off due to kids, spouses, jobs, etc. Thank goodness I have motivation from this website. Another big accomplishment is doing all natural without buying a whole lot of supplements that are way too expensive. I just eat good, clean solid meals 95% of the time.
Take a break. Re-group. Decide on another competition date to do since I decided not to do June 13th.
Goal (Long):
Studying to become a personal trainer. A lot of work since I have a career that takes up at least 11 hours of my day. EVERY DAY.
But I feel if I am gonna motivate and improve others, I better look the part! No one wants an out of shape trainer motivating them. Right?!?!
Also I have some desire to do the fitness modeling. I guess ive been reading too many Men's Health and Maximum Fitness magazines!

Went to physical therapy session this morning for the pain i was having in my shoulder and rear lat. at 7:00 this morning!!! Blah. But, I was awakened by the laser treatment I received. Talk about feel good pain.
Still have two to three more sessions to go. And hopefully I will be good as...
Its a secret. Actually Im working with a trainer and now that the season is over, Im taking a week off and he and I are gonna develop a training plan based on my next competition goals, weaknesses, etc.
hey my man, how've you been? was out with the flu for a couple weeks. hitting hard again, managed not to lose any size, think i really needed the recovery time.
Man, its been rough. Wasted a lot of time the last few months, too, but finally back on track now that I've decided to compete in my first show next year. Possibly 2 shows in the same month 3 weeks apart if I can afford the entry fees. How's it all been for you?
Actually I didn't compete at that show because of some personal BS that crept up on me. I am now working on putting on lean muscle now. The goal is at least 190 to come in at least 175-180 on stage.
LOL, dude I felt the same way about my physical therapy. They did teach me a couple good stretches and one good lower abs exercise. I would like to see someone about proper biomechanics for squatting and deadlifting though. Sorry about the knee... sounds like it's buggin ya pretty bad.
Training or like rehabilitation-wise? I'm actually doin no rehab for it. Not really sure what my options are. I train my lower abs, b/c the therapist months ago said I had weak low abs. Besides that I do some stretching hear and there, and am very careful with exercises that put my back at potential for injury. Some exercises I am still staying away from altogether b/c I am scared or too frustrated b/c even w/ light weight I feel the area get irritated. What do you do for rehab?
Oh man. Nah, I don't think you told me, man. Pretty sure I'd remember since I've got the same problem. Maybe I forgot though. Dude, injuries are the worst, huh? I'll be gettin certified sometime 2010... either ACSM or NSCA.
Trey! I don't remember you sayin you had disc issues when I was complaining about mine???? Dude, I feel your pain! It is so frustrating workin around this injury. I lost a good bit of muscle due to my disc bulges. My back bothers me A LOT! I don't squat, deadlift, bend over row, or do heavy bb shrugs. It sucks.
