How I Started:
I started working out at a young age 14 years old. I started working out because my friends were into it.
I never had a problem with body fat, I was always very defined, even if I hadn't worked out in a year!
That changed when I hit age 30. I was working out enough, but my diet was poor. So i started adding a lot of bulk.
At age 40 I was diagnosed with diabetes, my diet changed dramatically and I was able to add more muscle, quickly. The insulin helps as well.
Why I Love It:
I love the peace of mind I get knowing that I'm doing something good for my body. I like the way I look from weight training. Its a big self esteem builder.
How I Stay Motivated:
Its easy for me. Since its proven that weight training is one of the best forms of exercise for diabetes. I also stay motivated by continually adding different exercises to my routine. I always change up a little each week. Substituting a new exercise with a stale one. I also try to max out on the bench now and then. Hopefully get 300 next week.

Goal (Long):
In January I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I had lost 30 lbs due to this. I was down to 160lbs. My Dr. told me to exercise, so I immediatly started going to the gym. Taking insulin really helped with workouts.It seemed like muscle grew on me like never before. I was eating right and working out 5X a week. I put on about 40lbs. Mostly muscle. Now I would like more definition(cut), but I don't neccessarily want to lose any weight. I'm close to benching 300lbs. Next month I'll get it. My ultimate goal is to bench 2X my weight. I believe I will do this. I would also like 10% body fat. I'm at 15% now.
Rob, I'd say you have some pretty darn good muscle size to you. Your thoughts that you were looking pretty good are true ... the hard part of building up the muscle you've done a good job of.
