I needed to lose weight, I have had 4 children and weighed 227.5. I needed to do something. I lost 56 pounds and then stopped losing weight, but started noticing muscle. I am now focusing on that because it is exciting.
Why I Love It:
I love to see the improvements, how it looks and the energy I seem to have all day. I am in total control of my workouts and I am a girl that likes to be in control.
How I Stay Motivated:
I get to buy smaller clothes and enjoy a little attention from someone special.
I always thought weight loss was my goal. I freak out when the scale doesnt move but I realize now that it will move but I will lose 3 sizes first lol. I workout at 430AM and feel GREAT! I am finally starting to see progress in my stomach which is very cool. I think I am starting to see a butt lol, Ive been running and doing lunges and squats YES!!!
My starting weight 228
July 2008 176
October 2008 169.5 (13 year goal achieved)
December 2008 166
March 13, 2009 154.4 today!
March 31 2009 149 then shot back up to 153 in a week! hmmm still on the brink of a size 4.
June 16 and I am still at 153.5 (but I fit in a 4 now!)
Next goal: to no longer see myself as the fat gurl! that may be a little more difficult

It's going OK. I've kinda hit a plateau with the body fat loss, but strength keeps improving. When I get the urge to slack off, I just look at my pic from a year ago and BAM, I'm ready to go to the gym and workout.
thanks girl, I appreciate it as well..
hey, I think you need a personal website on your page, fitnesspoynters.com would sound good, you think? haha..
Steve
Sorry to hear your not doing so hot... remember even when your training like mad and feel great you still need time off every now and again other wise you burn out for a while just from your body needing time to recoup a bit.
Its going pretty good, I've finally gotten as big as I think I really need to be so now I've switched over to a more rep heavy work out and less weight to start toning everything up a bit... taking some getting used to though since I've always had so much weight and now to go to so much less is mentally awkward other then that I'm doing pretty dang good.
Thanks but I never know when I am going to go till about 20 minutes before I walk out the door, I got the situation taken care of now any how so no worries.
As for me I've ran into time issues too, new girlfriend and getting to the end of school semester is killing all my time, plus my base pass ran out so I am back to the pretty people gym LAFitness which sucks because its mostly just people posing for each other on machines they arent using. But atleast I was able to get in a work out today. Anyways I need to get ready to go to the fair ttyl, and GET THE DRESS!!!
Another contest? Wow you are like super woman aint ya?! As for motivation... thats easy! Buy a dress, one that is the size you'd be if you lost that 12 pounds, make sure its showy, ask your hubby to help pick it to make sure its perfect, then set a date some place nice for the two of you and drive your self to get there by that date! Boom motivation.
