What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
I lifted too often. Rest is important, your muscles can get worn down because of overuse, it's ok to take a light day.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Learn the technique of each lift before you add weight. Don't ever cheat on your technique just to make it appear like you are lifting more.

I would tell them to set long term goals, and not to expect results in weeks.
