How I Started:
A good friend of mine, who was a wrestler in high school, started putting together a gym in his garage. It was definitely rough, cinder block walls, concrete floors, and no such thing as climate control. Hot as hell in the summer and heaters had to be plugged in during the winter. I started seeing definite progress before going to the Navy. I wasn't able to work out in the same manner in the Navy but I was able to pack on about 25 pounds of muscle while I was in. After I got out is when I slapped on a couple extra BF points. Now I'm ready to rid myself of the BF and see what I should look like.
Why I Love It:
I love seeing the progress of lifting. I like the strength gains, slapping on that extra plate that wasn't there last week, it's rewarding. Having people who haven't seen me in some time saying things like, "wow, you got big!" and, "you look awesome!" It's those kind of comments that drive me to get this body fat gone.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just have to see pictures of the pros and that pretty much will keep my mind in the game. I want to be a cop too. I want to look like a cop should, not soft and gooey in a uniform. After getting on the police force I want to try to get onto some special teams, and a fat kid doesn't make the cut for this kind of selection.
BB Accomplishments:
I was always hung up around 270 on my max bench. I finally broke through that last year and busted the 300lb mark. I also had a problem with pull ups stopping around 10 or 12. After lots of practice in 2002, I shattered that plateau and was doing four sets of 25 (that has since gone down a bit).

You are the one who has made the decision to move forward and battle on until you achieve your goal. So... why quit on yourself? That would mean you lack integrity because you would be failing to follow through on a decision you made for yourself.
