Not the best of days

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 5:31pm
Why is going to the gym so good for me? Because it's the only part of my day today that didn't suck. Basically my day was this: Work (with groceries at lunch) 30 minutes - Walk to the gym in a blizzard 60 minutes - Work out <- Good part! 30 minutes - Walk home from the gym in a blizzard 3 HOURS - shovel the snow in the driveway Sleep, then get up an hour before sunrise Cook 5lbs of potatoes, salmon, and 6 cups of rice while eating breakfast 1 hour - shovel some more Get ready for work and then by the time I'm outside to leave there's snow on everything again. This sucks! Does  anyone h...

What next?

Well I reached my goal and I celebrated with a two week break. Now that it's over I don't want to loose my discipline. I've decided to post a progress picture every month (starting Feb 1), so I would have to answer for any slacking off. My trainer just left the blizzards of Ottawa Canada (can't blame her), for the warm winds of Punta Cana. She set up a fitness retreat there and won't be coming back, but I did get a new routine built for putting on some lean muscle. We'll see how it goes. It begins after Christmas.

A good excuse to skip the gym

This gets interesting.... My body knows the daily regiment. Up at 6:30am and coast through the early part of the day. At around 2pm, I feel it warming up. At 3pm it wants to run. By 4pm I'm out of the office and on my way to the gym and I'm really amped. All synapses are firing and I'm ready to hit the weights. This is my routine, and I love it. Today I am thankful more than ever of this regiment. This "cycling up" saved my life. Quick reflexes would be the order of the day. My drive to the gym is short but sweet - a little jump on the highway from work and I'm there. It's routine......
