As a kid, I had a subscription to the Boy Scout magazine. In every issue was an ad for the Charles Atlas program. I was that skinny kid who other kids made fun of, so I associated with the comic strip story in the ad. I was also impressed with the pictures of the muscular men and wanted to look like them. So, I ordered the program, which became my first workout routine.
Why I Love It:
Of course, I love how it changes my body. But, I also love the feeling of energy, strength and doing something productive that comes with working out. I know I'm using my time wisely, rather than sitting on the couch in front of the TV. And, I know it'll have lasting health benefits. I also like the attention looking good gets.
How I Stay Motivated:
Flexing in the mirror keeps me motivated, seeing the results and wanting more.
BB Accomplishments:
In 2001, I was a part of the Body for Life Challenge. I didn't come close to winning, compared to anyone else. But, for the first time, I broke 160 pounds. My weight was up and my bodyfat down. I turned heads and felt really good about myself. I didn't have the best body in the gym, but I had the best body I'd ever had in my life.
I've seen Chad's growth and confidence over the past year or so and developed an admiration for him. He's confident, but realistic. Seeing his progress motivates me to get to work and make progress of my own.
First day of my second week on P90X! I've already made it further than my first go, because this time I'm making time to get that workout in each day! It means I'm about 15 minutes late to work, but at least I have my priorities! (Well, that and I'm allowed to be late. Even if...
I'm starting P90x on Monday and will track my progress here.

Good work man, I'm impressed by the curl max, just cause it's something I know on myself... I think I'm close to the 60 lb neighborhood. So, in proportion...damn.
