Gettin' my calories back up.
In the past year, I've been ravaged with illness and injury after another. But have been back on track in the past few months! Had a few fractures a few months ago (yes, multiple at the same time, no, not acquired doing the same thing), and let my nutrition slide while I was on the mend. Then started to train again but was struck down with pneumonia, and just as I was getting better, ended up with mono! So basically, by mid october, I had drifted down to a much lower weight and lost a hell of a lot of muscle. So since then, I've worked my ass off! Packed on a few pounds (about 10 now) and trined really hard. I've been aiming for 2,100 calories a day, and usually hitting that within 200 or so. I've gained about 2lbs a month, so that's a rate I'm comfortable with and also a rate that I feel like I can build mostly muscle at minimal fat at. I've been huge on protein powder. I'm not a big fan of meat these days, and am on the go all the time, so typically make up 3 Isopure shakes in the morning and drink them throughout the day.
Just had to throw in the image to sing my praises to my current obsession! But anyway. Aside from that, eating clean as usual, my big staples have been greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, nuts, all kinds of fresh produce, and some whole grain stuff (whole grain breads, oatmeal, whole grain cereals). I'm pretty satisfied with my progress lately, I was really down and out a few months ago and feel so much better now that I've been training hard again and am eating so much better! Here's to health and strength!!
