How I Started:
I began lifting in the middle of my freshman year of high school. I didn't really follow a set workout regiment and did no cardio. I played football and threw discus in high school, but never took the lifting aspect of it as the most important. Now, in college, I have a set workout and in the new year, I hope to stay committed and dedicated to transforming my body.
Why I Love It:
I love the pump my muscles get after each workout. I love waking up sore the next morning, proving that I worked to my capacity. I love teaching other guys what I know and have learned in the weight room.
How I Stay Motivated:
So many people have told me what I cannot do. I can't do collegiate athletics because I'm too short, or I can't play football because "I'm not tough enough." Those phrases are seared into my heart and are at the root of my iron determination.

I'm tired of being ashamed when I take my shirt off, so I want to transform by body to where I feel comfortable at the beach.
Goal (Long):
My roommate has the start to a six-pack. One of my best friends has about an 8-pack. When I take off my shirt, all I see is a keg. Both these guys will be going to California with me right after our first year of college is done. It'd be awesome to take my shirt off and feel comfortable. I don't necessarily want a six-pack, but definitely a more toned chest, toned arms, and some abdominal definition (at least let the world know they do exist!). I have a real solid base for cutting fat and building muscle, and these two guys mentioned before will push me and keep me honest. I know I can reach my goal by the time that California beach trip rolls around...
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
Right now I'm cutting. I took my maintenance calories (2400) and subtracted 800. I know that's more than suggested, but I'm making good fat loss progress while not losing much muscle. I make sure to get at least 240-250 grams of protein a day and normally my macros are 50% protein, 25% carbs, and 25% fats. Right now I'm cutting. Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
Depends on the friend or family member. My roommate is my best friend and works out with me all the time. He keeps me honest by making sure I don't cheat on my diet or skip sets in the weight room. Sometimes it sucks, but he does it because he genuinely cares and I love him for it. My mom just wants be to be safe and doesn't like me taking a lot of supplements besides protein. My sister wants to lose weight so I give her some advice on how to do it the right way.Depends on the friend or family member. My roommate is my best friend and works out with me all the time. "Create and indelibly stamp in your mind a mental picture of yourself succeeding. Hold onto this picture tenaciously. Try never to permit it to fade. Visualize it often. Your mind will seek to develop this picture."
Thank you very much for dropping by and for leaving such a great and humbling message. I try to give either suggestions or options to everyone here who is trying to lose weight and achieve their fitness goals. To be called inspiring is an honor I don’t feel I deserve. There are so many here who have done so much more, they are inspiring. I wish you much success.
You have all of the inner strength that you need to achieve your goals and just have to believe in your ability to make your fitness dreams come true.
The Body for Life program was my choice for my body transformation and I lost over 50 lb’s in only 12 weeks by following it. It’s not super easy but not so hard that you can’t achieve your goals. I believe if you push yourself the results will be well worth the effort. I wish you success and am here if you want to talk.
