Background
After a lifetime of inactivity, I decided to get in shape for my 30th birthday-- the best gift I ever gave myself. I stayed active until about halfway through my third pregnancy, when some complications sidelined me. Lost a lot of muscle, gained a lot of fat, but after delivering in August '10 (weighing in at 205!), I jumped right back on the fitness wagon. By the end of the year, I was at my pre-pregnancy weight, but ready to take it to the next level.
It works. I love that with dedication and consistency, I can get results. I used to think I didn't have the genetics to be in great shape. That's garbage. There's no magic pill. It's all just hard work and stick-to-it-ness. I can do that. *** I also love that it's become an important value in my marriage. My husband is a firefighter (and part of a technical rescue team) and fitness is obviously a crucial part of his job. I'm happy that now it's something we can enjoy together.

5:30 a.m. - At the gym lifting (MWF) or outside running (TuThSun). On Saturdays (a little later in the morning!), I sometimes take a "boot camp" style class with my 4th grade daughter for fun. Working out with her is the best part of the week!

Last night, our air conditioner malfunctioned and the drip pan overflowed, soaking two of our ceilings and causing major damage.
