When I Started:
Nov, 2004
How I Started:
Was getting ready for a wedding that never happened. The marriage may have not worked out, but I sure have.
I started at approximately 425 lbs in the summer of 2004 and started getting in shape for an October wedding. The wedding was canceled but it turbocharged my workouts. While I was dieting and lifting I was working with a man named Joe who was a non-competitive powerlifter/bodybuilder who looked great for his age(he looked 10 years younger than he was) and he showed me the basics of bodybuilding and how to lift for hypertrophy. Well, after I realized I could get my genetics to work FOR me instead of against me(like they have for my whole life so far) I made the decision to take this body to its limits, both strength and size. I meet inspirations every day that fuel my fire, like my newest friend, Tom Manno, who holds 99
American powerlifting records and is still going strong at almost 50 years old!
Why I Love It:
When I workout I am in my own world. I'm at the gym to test myself, to push myself, to motivate myself. I have no one to blame if I fail and no one to give credit to if I succeed except God and myself. If I don't workout, I feel horribly stressed, lazy and restless. Sure, I may be addicted, but I can think of things much worse to be addicted to than fitness.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at the pictures from where I was 425 and then I look at pictures of known natural athletes and realize had work and genetics are the only things separating me from them.
I've always been fat, ever since I started school I've been picked on as the fat kid. In high school the bullying stopped because I wasn't AS fat and I had a pretty good temper and lots of friends, but I was always overcompensating in my personality to disguise my overweight body.
I stay motivated because I look forward to living a long time for my new fiancee' and my unborn children. I need to leave my mark on this life and I don't want it to be that I was a "nice, but really fat and unhealthy" guy.
BB Accomplishments:
I am stronger now than I've ever been, lighter and faster than when I was in high school, and have less body fat than I have since I've been 7 years old.
I'm now a Certified Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association(ISSA).
I am now looking forward to entering the police academy and getting myself in shape before attending.

I've already lost more fat than most people weigh, have lifted weights I never imagined I could, and look better than I ever though I could. Think I'm satisfied? No, I won't make that mistake again!
-= Natural for Life =- Well, I did it, I transformed myself into something I really could be proud of. Now I've moved into a different phase of my fitness lifestyle.
Goal (Long):
After losing over 165lbs and being able to lift weights that I never dreamed of lifting, I have decided to move into a different phase of my fitness lifestyle. I am now doing mostly functional training and possible entering the police academy. I will be expected to do lots of running and be in top cardiovascular shape while I am in the academy. Being a more strength oriented guy, this is all new for me but as my workouts have changed, so has my body. I am getting smaller and leaner, as well as more flexible now. I want to continue down this road for health and injury prevention.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 165 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
18%
Upcoming Contest:
None, I am done competing. My opponent is now myself.
Rusty Jeffers - 2005 Charlotte Pro, Posing Routine
Played: 129
Why I like this video: Rusty's routines are so beautifully classic, he's amazing to watch. There's a little Zane in there, a little Arnold, even a little Sandow in there.
Rusty Jeffers - 2007 Iron Man Pro, Posing Routine
Played: 137
Why I like this video: Again, Rusty posing amazingly. Why this guy doesn't place higher is anyones guess. I like that they replaced Bob's banter with the Queen song. Bob needs to play a little catch-up in my opinion. I'd like to see a pose-off between them. I don't think Chick does.
"Natural" Bodybuilders Skip Lacour and Ron Coleman
Played: 187
Why I like this video: Props to Skip and Ron, natural bodybuilding is a tough road brother. I know, I live it.
I guess first and foremost, last October I got engaged to the most wonderful woman I have ever met. We are getting married in Nov, 2008. Needless to say, that's been taking a lot of my time.
While recovering from my back injury caused by incorrect form when...
Wow, what a difference a couple of months make. Your progress is awesome. Your training looks like it's really paying off. Keep up the good work. It's very inspiring.
My wife (rvbodies) showed me this site. I found your profile searching for big dudes like me. For me, it was always intimidating seeing those 160lb jocks at the gym that looked like underwear models while I tried to keep my keg out of the way when working out. It's great to see your progress and know it's possible. I've somewhat plateaued, but am hoping to change things soon that I hope will break through. Best of luck to you.
I really enjoyed reading your goals and congratulate you on going for them. You have made very good progress and you sure have created a good foundation.
Keep rippin' it up!
Your transformation is nothing short of amazing. I wish I could bottle some of your will power and give it to some of my friends and family. Keep up the truly impressive work!
