At college my flatmate and I escaped a statistics lecture and sneaked into the sports hall gym... Just carried on from there.
Why I Love It:
It brings positive solutions to so many things for me. I've met some astonishing friends through the gym 'world' and I'm very grateful for their friendship, honesty, and positivity. It has brought me hope.
How I Stay Motivated:
The friends I have made at the gym and at bb.com have encouraged me to keep going through some tough times. I want them to be there when there are achievements to celebrate, too.
In particular they include Carla Hampshire, Adam247, dpd555, shane_h85, FireMedicMike, MK2004 and xxx666. They all say profoundly motivating things that keep me alive.
BB Accomplishments:
July 2009: BNBF Central Championship, Masters Class: 3rd Place.
October 2009: Took part in BNBF National Finals, Masters Class
Control epileptic seizures through balancing diet and lifestyle.
Goal (Long):
My goal is to develop a hybrid ketogenic diet that can stop the unexpected seizures generated by the epilepsy that started 8 years ago.
The medications prescribed to me for epilepsy ignored endocrine homeostasis and left me sedated and incapacitated.
Major improvements have happened since I followed a healthier approach, encouraged by the bodybuilders on this website. Now I want to fine-tune the final parts of the story to stop all seizures and allow my strength and size to return.
A man in London (me) gets told by doctors that his medical condition is going to kill him. A man that uses bb.com and who lives in Tampa (dpd555) - just happens to work as a leading research scientist into that exact topic - tells him a way to control the illness and get his life back. Does it sound like a film script? Well it's real life. I am so incredibly grateful and lucky to know dpd555. He has a very scientific yet considerate approach to things that leave me inspired.
MK2004's persistence (particularly with leg exercises) inspired me. He is a considerate, yet determined character that easily fits the job description of 'superhero'.

In 3rd place was an elated Mike Dancer. Mike had made considerable improvements to his physique since his Southern outing and deservedly took home the 3rd place trophy. Mike has a very detailed upper body...
