In high school I took a weight lifting class, because I was embarrassed that I was the only one in my family that could not do a pull up. I have been lifting ever since. I started running when I met my husband in '98. I was pregnant from '03-'05. I gained a lot of weight while I was pregnant. I had two girls back to back. I lost all the weight it was about 75 pounds. My body fat is a lot higher than it was before I was pregnant. I've been struggling to get below 20% bodyfat for the past few months. I decided to compete in a figure competition in April to motivate myself to lose the fat and tone up. It's something I always wanted to do. I think being on blood thinners, I had a blood clot back in May, because of a medication I was taking, has hindered my progress. I am having a really hard time staying motivated. Hopefully, bodyspace will help.
Why I Love It:
I love the way I feel when I workout, especially when I run. It's great stress reliever. I have two daughters; they're 2 and 3. I have to exercise.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's hard to stay motivated to work towards a competition. This is new for me. I just don't feel like I'm getting the results quick enough. My goal now is to get below 20% body fat by December. Then I can start training for the competition in January and will have only ten pounds to lose by April.
BB Accomplishments:
INBF Best in West 3rd place figure

Listen, son; I am saying this as you lie asleep, one little paw crumpled under your cheek and the blond curls stickily wet on your damp forehead. I have stolen into your room alone. Just a few minutes ago, as I sat reading my paper in the library,...
If someone would have told me that I would feel this good, I wouldn't have believed them. It's NICE to have energy most of the time, to fit into my clothes, and not feel self-conscious. How have you been?
