Background

When I Started: no information entered
HOW I STARTED:

I used to play sports and once I finished I also stopped working out. I live with some guys I played football with and we all decided it was time to get back to the gym. I started up again because I wanted to transform my body so I could feel confident about the way I look.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love that working out gives me a great sense of control over the way I look and feel about my body. I gain confidence in the man that I am when I work out and eat well.

Final Essay

Posted in Nutrition  :  Mar 28, 2011 6:52pm

When I started this competition I was unhappy with my life and fitness and diet was the main issue. I hoped through this competition I would get to a place where I was happy with my body and really hoped to be a positive influence on my closest family members. They are all well over weight and I saw myself going down the same road with a slowing metabolism and a more sedentary lifestyle. I had always been very active, so weight and nutrition was never a concern since I ate what I wanted and when I wanted it and stayed the same weight. Then I was done competing athletically, was out of work,

Change in mindset.

Posted in Other  :  Mar 05, 2011 9:43am
I started my transformation with the thought of setting a good example to my very unhealthy family. I expected to change my life with the hope that my family would see the changes and start to make some changes of their own. I expected to change their mindset more than anything. As it turns out, I have changed my whole view on the way I live my life. When I started I had a terrible diet. I would eat anything and everything in sight. I worked out from time to time and my clothes were not fitting the way they once did. As the weeks went by and I got more and more used to eating well and working...

modernconan I think if you can find a way to do strength and cardio at the same time, like with kettlebells or "crossfit" stuff you could cut your time down drastically. I agree with you hard to keep dedicating all that time day in and day out. great job though. Apr 4, 2011 8:14pm
