Background

When I Started: Feb 2000
HOW I STARTED:

I've been messing around in the gym since I was a child. My father was an amateur powerlifter, so we had a home gym. After years of working out and seeing no results, I finally witnessed a breakthrough during my senior year in college. Since then, I've been hittin' the weights a bit more regularly.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Obviously, I like the aesthetic aspect; it feels good to look good. Additionally, I enjoy the challenge of piecing together a diet, the right supplements, and an appropriate training regimen to produce my desired results.

2011 Contest Prep WK 6 Summary

Six weeks down and 10 to go! The good news is that I'm healthy...my quad has fully recovered, and otherwise, I'm not suffering from any muscle strains or anything. The bad news is that I've got A TON of work to do! I'm continuing to make progress albeit VERY slowly. The next couple of weeks are gonna be TOUGH! I'm turnin' up the heat by DRASTICALLY adjusting my diet and adding some more cardio. We'll see if this gets things going...

So, another week down, and things continue to come together. Unfortunately, this week I had to modify my schedule to accommodate a number of different professional requirements. So, I ended up working out in the afternoon as opposed to the morning...UGGGGHHH! As difficult as it is to get up in the morning and get going, I MUCH prefer training in the morning. Oh well! I should be able to move back to working out in the morning next week. After tweaking my right quadracep last week, I was bit worried about how I was gonna get through this week's leg workouts, but fortunately, I got through both...

Overall, I have to say that I had another successful week. I'm DEFINITELY making progress, but I can't help but feel a bit anxious. I'm 12-wks away from stepping on the stage, and while progress is nice, I need RESULTS! I've been comparing my physique now with my physique around this same time when I was preparing for my first competition, and I must say that I think I've been able to raise the bar a bit. My legs, particularly my hamstrings, are looking bigger, and my upper-body seems to have a bit more thickness now. I was REALLY pleased with my showing two years ago, so the pressure is DEFIN...
