When I Started:
Apr, 2009
How I Started:
When I was in grammar school, I was a short kid who everyone picked on. As a kid who grew up watching He-Man and idolizing Schwarzenegger, I thought if I were stronger that I might not be picked on as much. It was true. At the age of thirteen and in the seventh grade, I could squat 230 pounds. The other kids thought that was pretty cool. In high school, I wrestled for years until I lost my drive to work hard and found my motivation to party. That was something I was extremely good at... well, I was extremely good at both wrestling and partying. I really took off with the partying though. After years of ignoring life and avoiding responsibility, I started to realize that I had some habits that I couldn't get rid of. I also realized how many countless times I should have died. A friend finally helped me to see what I was doing to myself. After I came to that realization, I found comfort and a strength, both mental and physical, in the gym. I value my health, and I love the life I have. I'm a little bit lucky and very glad to be alive. I love working out. It keeps me on track.
Why I Love It:
I love feeling good about myself. A healthy body leads to a healthier mind.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by constantly measuring my success. I like to keep my goals in sight, and I love meeting them to set new ones. I also motivate myself by looking at the successes of others in the way of health and fitness. If they can do it, so can I.

Poor quality photo, but the earliest I had before I started training. I was too thin, lacking muscle, and had no definition whatsoever.
I had just eaten a 1/2 lb of ground meat, so I had a little bit of a belly, but it had been so long since I had put a progress pic up, I took one anyway. I'm doing good, but still have a lot of work to do.
I think whey protein is best for me, because it digests so quickly. Seeing as I eat around 40g - 50g of protein every two hours, fast digesting protein prevents me from slowing my metabolism too much.
Or a lot more core. I've started doing some new core exercises and I have to say, it's awesome to feel that burn! You know, that burn. That burn that makes you feel like you're somewhere between the point of being on fire and about to throw up.
Hey Tom, everythings good. Work is very demanding right now. Still trying to mix up things for training. Scale is still stuck but I'm losing inches so guess I'll take it lol. How about with you?
@ work, summer is so slow w/doctors taking vacations, so as soon as Sep. hits, it's mad until Christmas. I'm working out at home now + love it! I prefer the quiet concentration, no lineups, etc. I'm looking forward to winter (that's a dirty rotten lie, I despise the cold, but it's when I do my hardest body transformations!) I go undercover as a loose sweater in December and come out a 6 pack in the spring!
HAHAHAHAHA. I try doing almost the same thing. I try to make my carbs less and less as the day progresses. Problem is, sometimes things that may not "seem" to be carbs, are, and I need to learn to identify that. But at 8 or 9 at night, my body is yelling "CHOCOLATE!"
What's up. Trying to get back on track. Had killer workouts Fri. Sat. Sun. Mon. One more this evening and Wed. will be off (bowling). Other than a dance recitle of my daughter's, I will be back on again Thur. or Fri. The books on nutrition, I have not found the titles yet. I need to look back at some of my messages, but deals more or less of different types of foods, when and how should be consumed, different recipies. Even one on carb cycling. Check back at ya later.
Lol, yeah I know.....and I try to stick to my diet. I eat really lean monday through saturday.....but then comes the sunday dinner. "Call for Dominos babe...." I have a good diet . I train hard, and Im for the most part "clean" I just fall weak at the sunday dinner bell.
