When I Started:
May, 2007
How I Started:
I've always been athletic and love sports (soccer, H2O Polo, Swim, Flag Football), but never understood how important lifting is when it comes to toning and leaning out. I hired a trainer because cardio didn't seem to make a difference in increasing strength or burning fat. He showed me how to lift properly and believed in me...I was hooked. GO CHARGERS!!!
Why I Love It:
I'm addicted to research. I want to know everthing I can to further my progress and become healthier and leaner. I love feeling healthy and being stronger than all those skinnyfat gym bunnies!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have type 1 diabetes and use an insulin pump. Keeping control of my blood sugars in order to continue leaning out keeps the fire under my ass...
BB Accomplishments:
So far, I can remember alternating using a close grip machine row with some jerk at the gym...he kept having to change the pin and lower the weight of 110 to 70... I felt AMAZING!!! He looked at me like a freak, but he was the one who got laughed at.

ALWAYS be better and work harder than you did yesterday.
All my life I was the athletic "bigger (fatter)sister." My sisters are naturally skinnyfat beautiful woman, but I am going to be the lean, strong and gorgeous one from now on!
I am starting my life over this year and hope to make some big (or shall I say "leaner")changes...
My heaviest was in college at close to 160lbs. At barely, 5'3", I was too voluptuous... I've been working out since May 2007 (145lbs) and actually got to 118 lbs in the late summer of 2007, but have steadily gained weight back since then (130lbs as of 12/30/08). I need motivated, supportive people around me and I hope to find that here. I know with the right knowledge and support from others like me, I can lean out and gain strength enough to model as well as become a role model to other girls/women with type 1 diabetes. I am currently researching attaining my ISSA cert., as I love the industry and feel that I can make a difference in the lives of others, although the $700 cost keeps this opportunity at bay.
So for 2009:
- Lose at least 15-20lbs of bodyfat
- Increase strength and endurance through lifting
- Regain tight control of my blood sugars
- Earn my ISSA and subsequent NESTA certs.
- Take professional photos for modeling
Lemme know what y'all think. Will post before and after photos when I get a better "after" shot.
