i was overweight all my life and i was just sick of going on holiday and walking with my head down if i was topless. i decided once and for all i was going to fix myself up. i did just that and more and i am not stopping for a single thing this world can throw at me. i intially wanted to just lose weight and lean out but now, whilst maintaining shape, i hope to add as much size as i can so i can compete in natural bodybuilding shows next year at the age of 24.
Why I Love It:
nothing in the world makes you put in so much effort. from the discipline of saying 'no' when your friends or family are munching biscuits or kfc or when you really don't want to workout one day and you still haul your ass into the gym because it is unthinkable to simply say 'ah, can't be bothered'. it makes you a better person and affects more than just your physique. as mentioned, it disciplines you, makes you humble, makes you appreciate the rewards of hard work and can also help you to be organised (writing programmes for yourself).
How I Stay Motivated:
i know exactly what i want and when i achieve it i decide on what is the next thing i need to achieve. i change my training every 6-8 weeks to avoid staleness and i also mix it up with my nutritional choices.
BB Accomplishments:
i have not competed yet so nothing on that front. but other than the fact that i single-handedly changed my life for good, simply by being disciplined, dedicated and humble for the past 5.5 years, my life has changed for the better and it can only get better as long as the fire within doesn't burn out and my flame is the most stubborn flame in existance.
i want to be bigger and leaner. i plan to compete in the BNBF june show of 2010.
Goal (Long):
i need to bring up lateral triceps, lateral delts, inner thighs, calves, upper biceps and improve condition in general. my most muscular suffers by my lack of lateral tris and delts. although flexible, my inner thighs could use more mass and calves can be bigger to be mroe in proportion with everything else. my biceps seem bottom-heavy, so i am attempting to bring up my upper biceps too. i am eating cleaner than ever now to improve my condition and ultimately improve the physique in general.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 50 kg
Bodyfat Goal:
10%
Upcoming Contest:
BNBF Qualifier

Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
i want to share the amazing feeling i get from the gym. everyone deserves to feel this happy! not everyone is willing to work for it! but i do my best to show them the light!

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
set short term goals that are all contributing in their own way to a long term goal. trying to achieve long term gials before setting short term ones will only hinder you because you're not prepared for the short-term obstacles.set short term goals that are all contributing in their own way to a long term goal. trying to achieve long term gials before setting short term ones will only hinder you because you're not prepared f...more
