When I Started:
Jul, 2005
How I Started:
I was into rock climbing until I got injured and couldn't climb. I joined a gym to stay fit while I healed and later realized how much fun it was to make my body change in wonderful ways.
Why I Love It:
I've always been skinny. Bodybuilding has given me the chance to have the body I always wished I could have.
How I Stay Motivated:
While my friends and contemporaries keep getting older, fatter, and balder, I just keep getting better looking!
BB Accomplishments:
Got myself from 155 to 170 in just over a year while losing about 10% body fat. I'm now shooting for 185.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Didn't I just answer this question? The modern bodybuilders are interesting to look at because they're so huge, but I wouldn't call their physique's ideal.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Frank Zane. The guy looks like a classic Greek statue, graceful, powerful, and about my size. He claims to be asymetrical and that he hides it with asymetric poses. I'm fairly asymetric myself.

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Too much weight with poor form.

Thanks! I know you are aware of the effort involved in making progress. It's up to us to try to get through to the drive-by's and newbs what's required. Otherwise, they get discouraged, make no progress, and quit.

Hope you have a great trip. I can relate to wanting the dress clothes when you need them. For me it means court, congress or giving a lecture, so not too often. On our cruise some of the best days were those on ship at sea without a port. Have a great time. Take care.

Galway City Gym sells supps cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. For a gainer drink, try this: 1 scoop whey, 1/2 cup oat flour, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp peanut butter. I take creatine monohydrate. It's cheap and available from many companies. If that doesn't work, you can try creatine ethyl ester.
