Background

When I Started: no information entered
HOW I STARTED:

IDK how I got started. I remember it back in like 92 I entered a high school weight room for the first time. It felt good, but I was clueless. I taught there and would only go on weekends when the kids were gone.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I feel so powerful and confident and strong when I lift. It is like I go somewhere else: slap on the wrist straps, ear buds and go to work. Comment to my husband the other day that the gym is the only place I am ALWAYS happy.

My Workout Program

Cardio and lifting combination. I'm pretty happy with my muscle deveopment. I'd like to drop my body fat so the muscle shows.
Weekends are my hard workouts.
Saturday I do a lower body circuit with cardio intervals
*15 reps on squats (70), lunges (30), lift (50), adductor machine (85) and leg extension (80)

Sunday-abs with HIIT cardio
*15 reps on cable crunch (130), hanging leg raisers, russian twist (10), 1 minute plank (25)
Monday-upper body circuit with cardio intervals
Tuesday-off
Wednesday-shoulders, back, biceps-30 minutes of 70-85% cardio
Thursday-tris, chest, glutes-30 minutes of 70-85% cardio
Friday-off OR HIIT on stepmill (killer!!)

I'm going to start this as another way to get a handle on the nutrition piece of getting healthy.  I often have the best of intentions, but end up kicking myself for making poor nutrition choices.  I just got done editing the 13 excuses article and making tiny copies to keep in my gym bag, on my refrigerator door, etc.  I keep a food journal and have had success with this strategy in the past. Wish me lots of self control.
