In hs I did martial arts for four years, then in college I was in rotc for a while. I really got into lifting when I had a stint of of depression. I found lifting weights helped me fight it. Today I can't seem myself NOT lifting in my life.
Why I Love It:
The feeling and rush I get from lifting is great and nothing like it. Well...besides sex. :)
How I Stay Motivated:
Beating personal bests and becoming bettern than I was the day before.
BB Accomplishments:
Deadlift 1RM: 495lbs.
Squat 1RM: 395lbs.
Reaching the 1200+ club soon!

I'm writing this simply because I have been asked a few times what my current training routine is like. I primarily got the idea of this by looking at Layne Norton's (str8flexed) routine and customized it to my needs.
This form of training emphasizes strength and hypertrophy on alternating...
Some would argue that working certain muscle groups twice a week is counterproductive to growth but I have been training for a few years now and this form of advanced training is helping me accomplish more growth. I also have been BCAA loading which also aids in recovery through the routine. My schedule for rest days isn’t consistent and I generally only rest when I feel I cannot perform the next day, but usually I rest between days 3 & 4 and rest 1-2 days after day 5.
I lol'd, well played. Great goals you got there man, I especially like the goal where you're planning on decreasing your deadlift. My goal is to lean bulk to 210+, improve strength, improve cardiovascular endurance. Preparing to get back into martial arts. (which I used to do in hs)
Sword, did you hear the story of my life...I made a thread of all the interesting things that has happened to me. In high school I did martial arts for four years, then in college I was in rotc for a while. I really got into lifting when I had a stint of of depression. I found lifting weights helped me fight it. Today I can't seem myself NOT lifting in my life.
It's going pretty well, I'm going to really focus on my training from next Friday. I just came back from the gym and wondered since when Friday afternoon became THE workout day. It was very crowded and usually Friday is a quiet day. I guess everyone is trying to get in shape for the summer. Do you have a strategy for the summer? I think I'm just going to do my thing as I always do. It has worked pretty well so far. I hope everything is going great with you. :)
