I moved away from family & friends in early '04 and had nothing better to do so I worked out 5 days a week. When I visited home a few months later, friends commented that I was bigger.
I moved back home a year and a half later, got all busy with work and my social life, and totally let myself slide. I would work out occasionally, but didn't make it a priority.
This fall I had an "aha" moment. I was telling my mom I needed to get fit and lose about 40#. She didn't agree til she saw pics of me from 35# ago. Apparently I looked like a completely different person. I want to look like a buff version of that person.
Why I Love It:
I love lifting heavy and feeling the strain and the pump. I actually like the high protein/low carb diet.
I'm not in the shape I need to be yet, but I'd be in a heck of a lot worse condition if I didn't do it!
How I Stay Motivated:
I struggle with motivation, but I'm getting older and I'll be damned if I'm going to fall apart. I want to make heads turn.
Thanks for checking out my bodyspace. Sounds like you have the same desire as I do...fight back against getting older. There are alot of examples of people successfully achieving their goals at ages over 30 so motivation is here bro!! Good luck and keep training.
