I ran in collage, after graduation I gained from 160 to 215 over 10 years, because I was "too busy" to workout. I finally woke up in '06 realized I was actually a type "A" work-a-holic and water buffalo! I prioritized weight training in my daily routine.
Why I Love It:
It started when I (and my wife) saw muscles mass building on my upper body and legs...Then there is the vanity factor; clothes fit better and people started noticing...Finally the people and lifestyle motivate me.
How I Stay Motivated:
I went from my max FAT weight of 217 to 173. I never though I was fat, talk about being in denial....
I want to get to that goal of 185 and less < 10 % BF. By clipers I am at about 9.3 % BF consistantly (after 6 weeks of cutting).
Main goal is "LOOK GOOD WITHOUT A SHIRT"
Use 3 month program to build mass before cutting in April. Add 5 - 10 lbs lean muscle in 3 mo while eating clean.
Goal (Long):
Get that "built" look by summer 2008. Work a 3 mo 4 day split mass program prior to cutting in April.
Eat clean 5 - 6 times a day. 1 cheat meal on Friday
Start "spring" cut program and end up at 9% BF by Memorial day (current 16% after Christmas meals)
FInal weight in memorial day 180
Every day 8 hrs sleep.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
9%

Quite an eye opener......I weighted 179 this AM when I woke up, my original goal was 185 then when I made the goal, I revised it to 180. Now, that I have gotten to 179, I still have a lot of fat on my waist. I will continue cutting to 173!

so you understand it's NOT fun! good thing he's almost 7 now and can ride his bike with me! for short distances at least.. and looking at ur avi, i'd say you have a great ratio of muscle for ur running.. any bigger and it will be difficult to increase ur speed, right?
11 marathons?? oh hell no! 1 was plenty enough for this gal.. i luv me some running, but that was plain crazy! :) of course, i did most of my training pushing my son (then 2) in the jogging stroller.kinda zapped all the fun out of the 12 and 15 mile runs..haha! guess my true love would be that half-marathons! :)
that's the distance i'm working up to..hope the water in dallas is warm! :) i'm hoping to do one in cali in march! :) i ran the portland marathon 4 years ago now..i have no desire to ever do that again! no way.. no how...
