My wife forced me to work out. I had always been active, but never took "working out" seriously. I wanted to be bigger, just didn't want to do the work.
Why I Love It:
Now more than ever, how I treat my body gives me a sense of control. Having a 2 year old made me reevaluate my extracurricular activities and actually lifting weights for twenty minutes a day is the only activity I have left.
How I Stay Motivated:
Just want to be healthy.
BB Accomplishments:
4th place in small show in Virginia (2005). There were four competitors in my class. Not sure if I want to comptete again. Leaning more to attempting a triathlon or something.

About 2 months after I started training 10 years ago
Did my best to keep supplement companies in business the last few years. Ballooned to 220 lbs., could bench 315 lbs x's 3, but could not run 3 miles or touch my toes. Have since stopped taking all supplements except for a multivitamin and zinc. I even stopped lifting for about 10 months. I lost 40 lbs. I am starting fresh and making a committment to my body. Super clean diet for life, training 6 days a week life. Will not ever bench 315 again, but will not be ever be unhealthy again either.
Really feeling the days are flying by. A second child added to the mix three months ago has seemed to suck more than a few hours from the day. Wife will be off maternity leave in three weeks and I will be starting school. Not to mention we will be moving. My experiment has been pretty much...
I ran across a comment about your arthritis and thought I would share. I've been dealing with back pain and found some supplements that help. I had been taking advil but I started getting ringing in my ears. I switched and they work well. They are Turmeric based and listed on my page. Good job on your progress.
Hey man! Thanks for the nice comment you made on my blog! Its guys like you who are motivating me, and I appreciate that soooo much! My wife was an ER and Recovery nurse - you have an awesome profession! Thanks again! ~Ray
