I was 165 lbs. in high school and played on the soccer team and swam. When I got to college, I met a friend who was on a football scholarship and we became good friends and he got me started. As I started to make gains/progress, I wanted to become more than just a weightlifter.
Why I Love It:
I love going to the gym and entering "another world." One where everything else doesn't matter and for that time, you're completely focused and dominating the weights. I love seeing my progress and reaching my goals. It also makes me appreciate being healthy enough to do what I love, being an up and coming bodybuilder. I love having a bond with my friends in the gym and seeing/helping them reach their goals as well.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep setting goals for myself, whether they are competition or strength goals, and work as hard as I can to reach them. I have a great group of friends and who keep me in check and make sure I'm pushing through. But at the end of the day, it's up to one's self when it comes to dedication, work, diet, etc...

This was taken at my last show in November, 2007. Needed better condition and a bit better color. But for my first year competeing, I did better than expected, learned alot and had great experinces!
Finished the competition year with a strong showing at the Kumite Classic...Middleweight/novice 1st Places/2nd Overall!! I was happy with the improvements I made during the 8 weeks between now and the Universe show in Miami!! Now my goal is to put lean mass on and be bigger on stage...tired of being ...
Have a good off-season, improve my physique, get on stage, and dominate!!
Goal (Long):
I competed in 3 shows last year (2 were pro qualifiers). I just missed out on being a natural pro bodybuilder twice! This year I want to bring up a couple of weaknesses and bring a better package to the stage and win my pro card status!!
Matt's a good dude! He's very knowledgeable about physical fitness and helps keep me motivated in the gym! He is goal-driven and ambitious and I respect that!
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
I've met alot of good people/friends through bodybuilding/fitness/nutrition. I have applyed different training/nutrition styles I've learned throughpout the years, which has helped me determine what works for me and what doesn't. I've trained with some great partners and friends (Mike/Rob/Nate/Matt just to name a few) and have had some great experiences (The Arnold Classic trips) as a result of bodybuilding/fitness!I've met alot of good people/friends through bodybuilding/fitness/nutrition. Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I'm not sure who has the ideal physique, but 2 I admire are Lee Priest's and Frank McGrath's. Lee because he is 5'2" and packs on a ton of muscle for his frame. He can go big, or down to the 202 Class (Which I think is better for hime)
Frank is a freak...or Animal rather!! He is tall, and holds a ton of muscle on his frame! He is not a big, overblown monstrosity like the other pregnant bodybuilders on stage.
But both are very cool guys and have always psoed for a picture or signed an autograph when I asked them to! They both train hard and don't fuck around in the gym!!I'm not sure who has the ideal physique, but 2 I admire are Lee Priest's and Frank McGrath's.
