When I Started:
How I Started:
In 2003 I was about 180 and 24% BF, sitting behind a computer all day, and feeling quite unhealthy and looking like crap.
I started weight training on and off between living in NYC and South America.
I had no real clue about training, just read a few books and watched other people in the gym.
In 2005 I returned to San Diego and decided to get serious. I was now around 170lb, 21% BF. I started reading Bodybuilding.com religiously, particularly the forums. I had a personal trainer for 4 months, 3 days/week, which helped fill in my gaps of knowledge about fitness and gave me good feedback on form/technique.
Since then I picked up MMA training and now train 2-3 hrs per day, 6 days/week in 2 gyms--at a chain near me and SD Undisputed.
Why I Love It:
As mentioned, my goals revolve around MMA training. I love to compete and push myself mentally and physically to face off one on one with an opponent in the ring.
How I Stay Motivated:
There are too many benefits to training, that I know I'll feel like crap if I stop.

I want to increase strength and overall fitness. Secondarily, I'd like to decrease my body fat to 8-10% within the next year.
Goal (Long):
I train in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jujitsu, Boxing, so my main goals are directed toward improving my overall fitness.
I want to be a strong all-around athlete with plenty of endurance and cardio capability, while maintaining good health and pushing myself to peak performance.
Secondarily, I want to be ripped at 8% bodyfat, while maintaining slightly less than my current weight.
