I am doing mostly cardio 30 m a day and split bodyparts to legs, arms, back, chest and rotate through, think that is enough rest?

I stretch after every set, helps me get a few more reps I think. And you should only stretch after training when your muscles are pumped, less chance for injury. Also try using a ball.

Start with a mat class and that will give you an idea where you're at as far as strength and flexibility. If it's easy, then you're ready for the machines.
