When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
Natural Body Builder, ok..now about me...Latina and proud of my heritage! I was born in Sunny California and I will always be a Cali girl at heart. I have adopted Tejas as my state for 10 years and I especially love Dallas/Houston.
I have been weight lifting since 1983. Working out is a lifestyle for me. I decided to compete when I turned 39. My goal is to enter my first show before I turn the big 40 in August. I trained pretty hard for years even after having two kids. A few setbacks hasn't stopped me. I mainly stayed in shape to maintain my shape and my sweet tooth. I am now refocused and train regularly at the gym. I'm three quarters to my goal. More questions? If you ask about me I will tell you, "I am dreamer, a believer and an achiever."
Why I Love It:
No matter how much stress I have in my life, the one thing that helps me cope and get through it all is God, and working out..I love the power of my muscles and clothes look nicer too.
How I Stay Motivated:
Newest change will be practicing krav maga..i will have to be strong and fit to keep up...i've practiced Muay Thai and Brazilian ji jitsu and Aikido
My goal is to compete my kids, and I have told so many people..lol..but mostly because failure is not an option.
BB Accomplishments:
Getting back into the gym after two car accidents, many surgeries and Fibromyalgia, etc etc etc and believe me..I was a walking poster for all the latest and greatest drugs for no sleep, too much sleep, aches, pains, and the rest is too personal..but I started physical therapy and accupuncture which gave me the strength to hit the gym again, take up martial arts and even be on the company flag football team anything is possible if you believe...

I'm working on my NASM Personal Trainer Certification!! I would like to get my six pack back...I had one even after having two kids. I seemed to have lost it and working desperately hard to find it. (update...finding it! =)...)
I am in my precontest phase of diet and exercise. I am eating clean and drinking more water. I cut out alcohol and added more supplements including a multi vitamin, vitamin C and flax seed oil.
Discipline back on track! I have an awesome workout partner. He keeps me motivated and encourages me to be my best. Bodybuilding is a way of life for us.
July 09 I will send in my application to my first amateur bodybuilding contest. I will learn from my experience and perfect my craft for the next time. Yes I said next time! I have the competition bug. I first set out to do this to prove to myself and others I could do it..Now I want to make this a permanent part of my life. I love the bodybuilding world and the hard working people that populate it.
I have finally found my place in this world. I always knew where I belonged but it took me a while to come home.
As far as looks..I want ripped abs, rounded shoulders, cut thighs and well developed calves, sexy legs and buns of steel.
=P
I need some feedback please on personal trainer certifications..There are so many out there. I am aware of a few and I have in mind NASM which I understand is accepted by many franchise gyms. I intend to freelance and would be interested in your expert or personal feedback.
